Show Pleasant Grove Locals Mrs. J. P. Fugal was in Spring-ville Spring-ville Tuesday as one of the judges of the spring Flower Show. Whittaker Roundy fell Friday, May 19, while practicing high jumping jump-ing and sprained his right ankle. Mrs. L. L. Larson has been ill of shock since the fire occured at her residence last week. Miss Dorthy Jense has been ill for the past week with influenza. Howard N. Thome and his mother, moth-er, Mrs. Begina Thorne, were Salt Lake visitors Monday. Mrs. Mary Cooper spent the week end with her daughter, La Rene, at Ogden. The Better Homes group of the Windsor ward met Thursday evening eve-ning at the home of Elxoy Gillman. Mr. and Mrs. Art Hanson of Salt Lake were guests of Mrs. Seg-na Seg-na Christensen, Saturday. Mrs. Claude Steele and two children child-ren of Goshen are visiting this week with Mrs. Steele's mother, Mrs. Ida Smith. . Mrs. James D. Thorne was the guest of her son, Harold A. Thorne and family at Salt Lake City from Thursday until Sunday of last week. Mrs. Joseph Wills of Vineyard underwent un-derwent a very serious operation at the L. D. S. hospitial at Salt Lake City last Friday. Mrs. Victor Johnson who has been seriously ill for the past six weeks with heart trouble and pneumonia, pneu-monia, is reported to be slowly improving im-proving in health. :' Mrs. H. M. Nelson is reported to be improving after a very serious illness of influenza and -complications. Miss Ruby Williams who underwent under-went an operation for removal of her tonsils on May 15, is reported to be doing nicely. Mrs. Emily Aston visited last Sunday Sun-day with her daughter, Mrs. Jos. Madsen of Vineyard. Marjorie and Leland Lewis of Salt Lake niece and nephew of Mrs. Cooper, are visiting indefinitely at the Cooper home. Mr. Ivan Monson who is employed at the Yankee Mine in American Fork canyon spent part of last week with his family here. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nelson and friends from Grace, Idaho, where Mr. Nelson was employed last year, will-leave by auto Saturday for the World's Fair at Chicago. There., will be a meeting of the Timpanogos Flower club at the home of Mrs. J. P. Fugal, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock p. m. TOMATO PLANTS AND ALL KINDS OF BEDDING PLANTS. Men entertained the Gleaner girls at a "bon-fire" and j"weinie roast" last Friday evening at the Lindon School grounds. Jesse Thorne, class leader, and Betran Kirk, president of the class, were in charge of the affair. Out-door games and story telling were enjoyed en-joyed around the camp fire. The Sunday School entertainment committee of the Lindon ward composed com-posed of Elroy and Reed Gillman are planning a burlisque radio program pro-gram for Friday evening, May 26. Well-known radio entertainers, Seth and Mother Parker, Utah Bucker-oos, Bucker-oos, Children's Hour and others. A one act play directed by Mrs. Oswald Os-wald Johnson will complete the evening's eve-ning's entertainment. Mrs. Opal Adamson and Mrs. Oral Wright entertained at a shower show-er Thursday evening at the home of their mother, Mrs. Pearl Wadley, in honor of their sister, Miss Phyllis Phy-llis Wadley, who will be married to Wandell Keetch, May 26. The evening eve-ning was spent in parlor games and social chat. Delicious refreshments were served to about forty guest. The Manilla ward will hold a dance Friday evening in the ward amusement hall. Proceeds to go for ward chapel fund. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Bloomquist of American Fork visited with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Harper of the Windsor ward. ; ? The 4-H club girls of the Windsor ward met last Thursday at the home of Reva Harper VOnr- Thursday, Thurs-day, May 25, they will be the guests of Miss Leora Wright. y The M. I. A. of the Windsor ward enjoyed a social at the Lindon Hall Tuesday evening. The play "Peggy" was presented and the remainder of the evening was spent to dancing. danc-ing. About forty relatives and close friends of Miss Walker are invited. Mrs. Ben Blanc returned to her home in Murray Sunday after a two weeks visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Swenson. The newest decorations at the Alhambra Theatre are colorful lobby light fixtures and new stage lighting system. The ladies rest room has been made very attractive. A huge artistic floral basket of ferns have been added to the lobby decorations. Mrs. Anna Swenson of Logan, Mrs. Marie Nelson and daughter, Etta, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wamick, Mr. and Mrs. George Swenson and two sons, and Mrs. Ada Warnick all of Salt Lake were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Swenson, Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Walker announce the engagement of their daughter, Edna, and La Mar Moyle of Alpine. Miss Edna Walker Walk-er will entertain Saturday afternoon at a trouseau tea at her home. Miss Genevieve Fugal received a gold wrist watch as special award in the competitive play at the B. Y. U. on last Wednesday night, May 17, she was selected as president presi-dent of the Mask Club, a drama club, for next year. On Thursday night she was honored by being made president of the Les Cecilen-nes Cecilen-nes club for next year at the B. Y. U. Howard Peterson left the first of the week for Idaho, where he will be employed the coming summer. His mother, Mrs. James C. Peterson, Peter-son, and his sister, Mrs. H. C. Robertson, Rob-ertson, accompanied him as far as Salt Lake City. The Windsor Camp of the Daughters Daugh-ters of the Pioneers held their meeting meet-ing Thursday at the home of Mrs. Sadie Pehrson at Provo. A sketch of the life of Mrs. Pehrson's father, Edward Ogden, was read. Officers were elected for the coming year. Refreshments were enjoyed. On May 15, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Cooper and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hilton motored to Magna to attend the county Service Council meeting of the Utah Postmasters association. associa-tion. The meeting which was held at the Utah Copper company's club house consisted of a business meeting, meet-ing, program, refreshments and dancing. Mrs. C. R. Clark entertained Monday Mon-day evening in honor of her husband's hus-band's birthday. The evening was spent in progressive games and social chat.
