Show Grovonian Club Organized At a business meeting of the original orig-inal Lions club of Pleasant Grove, held April 20 in the club room, the membership present decided to withdraw with-draw from Lions International and form a new organization. The items of business at the following, fol-lowing, meeting consisted of selecting select-ing a name for the new organization organizat-ion and presenting a new constitution consti-tution and by-laws. Several names were presented, but a vote of 18 to 4 in the final ballot selected the name Grovonian. The membership of the new club is made up of practically the same personal as the previous Lions organization. or-ganization. New names presented and accepted as eligible for membership mem-bership in the new club were: M. S. Christiansen, Sam Hilton, Mayor Lewis Olpin, Dr. Grant Y. Anderson, Ander-son, H. W. Jacobs, Creed Kindred and Lee Peterson. It was voted at the meeting that the membership of the club should not exceed 30 members and that limit has almost been reached. The objects of the new organization organiz-ation will be: To form closer bonds of good fellowship among the members mem-bers and to promote a closer business bus-iness and social union among them. To encourage activie participation in all things that have to do with oommercial, civic, and industrial betterment. To uphold the principles princi-ples of good government. To assist in every honorable way in furthering further-ing the interests of its members and toward bringing about a better understanding among them. Clarence S. Hill is president of this new club, J. O. Clark, vice president, and Lyean Johnson, secretary-treasurer. o |
