Show Rain delays final game of "C" tourney begin tonight at 7:30 at Shannon Field. As the game was suspended the game will pick up exactly where it was called. Other local teams in the tournament tour-nament represented the league very i well in the state, upsetting some teams and giving others more than they expected. Congratulations to Cook's and all the other local teams for their good showing in the state tournament this year. :1 The Men's State Class "C" Fastpitch Softball Tournament was held in Pleasant Grove over the weekend, but Mother Nature decided to hold off the outcome for a few days. Cook's Wallbangers from the Pleasant Grove league, were playing in the championship game when the rains came, postponing the outcome until tonight. Cook's cruised through most of the tournament, defeating Reed Stallings Construction from Salt Lake 13-5. They then shut out a strong Hill Field team 6-0. Rio Grande Railroad was their next victim, 15-6, which sent them into the semi-finals against R & M Transportation. Cook's prevailed in that game, 7-4, which moved them into the championship game. R & M moved through the loser's bracket and once again the two teams met. This time the outcome was different dif-ferent as R & M jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead. Cook's was able to tie the game at 4-4, but R & M moved out ahead again to win 9-8. This set up a one game final as both teams had one loss in the double elimination tournament. Cook's jumped out quickly, scoring in the first inning. R & M came back to take a 1-2 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning when the rains came and the game was suspended.
