Show Hollis conducts book drive to benefit Peterson School Lisa Gay Hollis, this year's Miss Utah candidate representing Pleasant Grove, has been conducting con-ducting a book drive for handicapped han-dicapped children at Peterson School. Since the Peterson School for the handicapped was built nine years ago, they have not had a library. If the children wanted to check out books to read, they had to travel to the American Fork Public Library. Recent building improvements have included room for a library, but funds were not available to fill the shelves. Lisa determined that that would be a worthy cause for her service project. Thanks to Lisa and the many fine people in this area, there will be books on the shelves when the building's new wing is opened this fall. Lisa would like to express special thanks to all who helped and a special thanks to the Pleasant Grove Kiwanis and Elks Clubs for their support. Lisa stresses that the need still exists, so if anyone would like to donate children's books, they would be greatly appreciated. |
