Show Leland & Thressa Anderson celebrate Golden Wedding The children of Leland and Thressa Anderson honored their parents at a family party to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Tuesday, July 28. Leland Dan Anderson was born in Ioka, Utah Jan. 9, 1917. While in Ioka, he went to school, met and married his wife, Thressa Elvira Bowden. Their first home was in Ioka. They lived there for 13 years. Later they moved to Cottonwood, Union, American Fork and Highland, where they still reside. Lee did everything from drive a school bus in Ioka, to being a general contractor. After retiring, he farmed, raised peach trees, hay and a few animals. His favorites include fishing, camping and building fancy shelves and trimmings, not to mention dollhouses for the grandchildren. Thressa Elvira Bowden was born Jan. 10, 1920 in Altonah, Duchesne County. She went to school in Altamont, where she was active in church functions. After she was married she was called to be a primary teacher for many years, then into the Relief Society until 1978. Thressa loves to travel, fish and camp. She has enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and canning. They are the proud parents of six children: Rea Taylor, Holladay; Kenneth Anderson, American Fork; Leon Anderson, Wyoming; Joan Dorton, Salt Lake City; Betty Thressa & Leland Anderson Pedersen, Murray; and Kathy Anderson, Pleasant Grove. They have 24 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. |
