Show Review - Wednesday, July 29, 1987 - Page 4 Ford and Berniece Anderson honored at Golden Wedding J I Joseph Ford and Berniece Petty Anderson will be honored at an open house hosted by their children on Fridav, August 7, in the Manila Stake' Center, 105 W. 1800 North, Pleasant Grove, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Ford was born and raised in Ephraim. He moved to Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. He worked in the Air Force as an administrative officer for several years. Later he served as director of Oregon's Federal Crop Insurance. Berniece was born in Ferron and graduated from Wasatch Academy at Mt. Pleasant. She later graduated from Holy Cross Hospital School of Nursing, Salt Lake City, as Registered Nurse. Mrs. Anderson spent several years working in Salt Lake City and Pendleton, Ore. They are the parents of seven children, five boys and two girls: Bryant, Sandy; Judith, Pleasant Grove; David, Murray; Mark, Lewiston, Idaho; Marilyn, Seattle; John, Pendleton, Ore.; Michael, Baker, Ore. They have 26 grand-children and one great grandchild. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. No gifts please. Ford, Berniece HrJ Deborah Davis to become bride of James Hale in temple rites Sis. p';.Si! Dean and Delia Davis of Pleasant Grove announce the marriage of their daughter, Deborah, to Timothy James Hale, son of Richard L. and Helen C. Hale, Orem, on August 5 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The couple will be honored at a reception that same evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove 11th Ward, 195 N. 400 East. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Attending the bride will be Dusty Davis as maid of honor, with bridesmaids Delia Don and Delora Davis and Jessica Phillips as flower girl. Best man will be Michael D. Hale. Special guests will be Mrs. Lucille Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis L. Davis, grandparents of the bride. Showers for the bride-to-b- e have been given by SuAnn Bird, and Doni Davis and Mie Oliphant. Debbie is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. She was a member of the National Honor Society, president of FHA and a member of the Seminary Council. She has attended UTC. Tim is a graduate of Lexington, Kentucky Catholic High School. He played varsity basketball. He is a graduate of BYU in com-munications. He served an LDS mission in Pittsburgh, Pa. The couple will make their home in Lexington, Ky. James Hale Deborah Davis Jeff Wells returns from Canadian LDS Mission fmmmm ;i' ! ) ' Elder Jeffrey K. Wells, son of Kent and Janet Wells, Pleasant Grove, has recently returned from serving in the Vancouver, Canada LDS Mission. He will speak in a sacrament service Sunday, August 2, at 11:30 a.m. in the Manila 4th Ward Chapel, 105 W. 1800 North, Pleasant Grove. An open house will also be held that same afternoon at the family home, 515 W. 2600 North. All friends and relatives are in-vited. Jeff Wells I Leland & Thressa Anderson celebrate Golden Wedding The children of Leland and Thressa Anderson honored their parents at a family party to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Tuesday, July 28. Leland Dan Anderson was born in Ioka, Utah Jan. 9, 1917. While in Ioka, he went to school, met and married his wife, Thressa Elvira Bowden. Their first home was in Ioka. They lived there for 13 years. Later they moved to Cottonwood, Union, American Fork and Highland, where they still reside. Lee did everything from drive a school bus in Ioka, to being a general contractor. After retiring, he farmed, raised peach trees, hay and a few animals. His favorites include fishing, camping and building fancy shelves and trimmings, not to mention dollhouses for the grandchildren. Thressa Elvira Bowden was born Jan. 10, 1920 in Altonah, Duchesne County. She went to school in Altamont, where she was active in church functions. After she was married she was called to be a primary teacher for many years, then into the Relief Society until 1978. Thressa loves to travel, fish and camp. She has enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and canning. They are the proud parents of six children: Rea Taylor, Holladay; Kenneth Anderson, American Fork; Leon Anderson, Wyoming; Joan Dorton, Salt Lake City; Betty Thressa & Leland Anderson Pedersen, Murray; and Kathy Anderson, Pleasant Grove. They have 24 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A.F. Hospital summer picnic Pink Shop. They will also raffle off several tilled pinatas at this time. The chances are three for $1. The public andailt employees are invited to com-enjoy this fun time with us. The American Fork Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary held their annual summer picnic on July 13 at Rotary Park. A delicious luncheon was served to the 39 volunteers and three guests who attended. Business and games followed. The volunteers are keeping busy raising funds and helping serve the needs of the hospital. Recently they have purchased a new gurney for the Emergency Room and furnished two stipends for nurses interested in updating their knowledge to return to nursing. The next event planned will be a taco luncheon which will be held Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Jr. and sr. high dances this week There will be two dances this week for the youth in the com-munity. On Thursday, junior high age kids (including those going into the seventh grade) can come from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Friday's dance will be held for the high school age kids from J p.m. This includes the kids into tenth grade l The dances are well chape and will be held at the Rati munity Center. Admission is 'rj each. Rodriquez trains with SAC Capt. David A. Rodriquez has participated in the Strategic Air Command's annual readiness training exercise "Global Shield 87." Selected Air Force Reserve and Guard units joined with SAC units worldwide in the extensive exercise designed to enhance readiness and support U.S. national policy. Rodriquez is the son of Cirilo A. and Maria E. Rodriquez of Clovis, N.M. He is a pilot at Pittsburgh Air Force Base, N.Y. His wife, Kayleen, is the daughter of Aaron and Bonita Card, Pleasant Grove. The captain is a 1983 graduate of U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. 4 Days Only!
