Within four years, 100 percent of the district elementary schools must be on the expanded facility use. At the present time, 25 percent of the elementary schools are productivity models with year-round year-round extended day programs. Building expansion plans have been put on hold, which includes the junior high and high school added classrooms. An early window retirement is being offered to all teachers who have 25 years or more of service. The plan will help the schools save money by hiring new teachers at a lower rate. By KALYN SECRETAN Central School hosted the PTA Council and local PTA presidents along with the school principals for the March meeting. President-elect Carolyn Smith conducted the meeting in the absence ab-sence of Eva Ercanbrack. The new teachers at Central School were introduced by Principal Emal. They include Mrs. Rawson, a special education teacher for the fourth and fifth grades. She spent three years in Salt Lake teaching the blind and also one year in Alpine working with the blind. A BYU graduate, she is married and the mother of three daughters. Mrs. Leinweber, a sixth grade teacher, previously taught at Orem Elementary and directed a preschool pre-school for 10 years. She has four children. Miss Bennett was born and raised in Camaro, Calif. She graduated from BYU, majoring in early childhood education. Mrs. Wright is also new to the school but was absent. The following people were nominated for positions for the coming 1987-88 school year: President-elect, Maraiam Tomlinson; Legislative V.P., Connie Lamoreaux; Membership V.P., Marilyn Patch; Secretary, Eva Ercanbrack; Treasurer, Valerie Gibson. Principal Maag from the Lindon School reported on the impact on the district due to the recent legislative action. The school will be funded on the same level but the district received cuts this year. There will be no salary increases. The school year will not be shortened.
