It is being organized by the Provo Parks and Recreation Department. A 10K race will be held in each state throughout the country with the winning man and winning woman from each state competing in a national run off at Lake Tahoe on May 24. The national run off will pay $1 million split between the man and woman who win the Super Run II America's Race. Unlike other running events, there will be no world class stars in the series of races held in each state of the union. It is restricted to U.S. citizens who are "side street" amateur runners. Specifically excluded are active college and world class athletes, NCAA and TAC champions and record holders, plus any runner who has ever won or been paid money for sports competition or related activities. A key element in the road racing series is a companion event called the Mayor's Rockport Fitness Walk. At each preliminary event in all 50 states, this one-mile walk will be held in conjunction with the Super Run America's RAce 10K state championship. The Super Run II |
