Pharmacists, doctors, dentists, paramedics to assist at Community Health Fair Sat. Information on alcohol and drugs, when to take your children to the doctor, smoking, diabetes, arthritis, PMS, cancer, March of Dimes, blindness, health care homes, LaLeche League, preventive health care, dermatology, podiatry, glaucoma and hearing will be presented. The Health Fair is under the direction of the Timpanogos and Pleasant Grove Stake Relief Societies. Gayle Judd is general chairman. Professionals in the health fields will be on hand Saturday, April 26, to lend assistance to the community at the Health Fair to be held in the Timpanogos Stake Center, 800 N. 100 West, Pleasant Grove, from 9:30 a.m.to3p.m. The public is invited to attend. The fair is free. Pharmacists will be available to check the medications you are now taking to see if any counteract each other. Bring your medications with you for the pharmacists evaluation. Dentists will present oral hygiene information, doctors will assist with medical features. There will be informative booths, videos and demonstrations. Blood tests will be offered at a fraction of the usual cost. The 24 Channel test will be $10 and with a cardiac profile Included it is $15. A four-hou- r fast, except for water, is required for the first test and a 12 hour fast, except water, is required if a cardiac test is done. Blood will only be drawn on those 18 years of age and older. Free health screenings "will be given including vision testing, blood pressure, height-weigh- t, referral services and more". The fair is open to the entire family. Lunch will be sold. Utah Women's Well Care Conference set On May 9, at the University of Utah Union Ballroom, the University of Utah College of Health and Salt Lake Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer the Utah Women's Well Care Con-ference from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This conference is specifically designed to provide women of all ages, social groups, and careers an opportunity to learn about, and discuss with others, all aspects of their physical and emotional selves. Keynote speaker for the event is Elouise Bell, an enthusiastic and humorous writer and public speaker, best known for her mon-thly column in Network magazine, "Only When I . Laugh." Her presentation, "Power Napping and Other Creative Innovations in Fitness" or "The Lighter Side of the Spectrum," will be followed by five prestigious panels, each with three experts addressing health problems and challenges central to the changing world of women today. Some of the topics of the panels are: Overcoming Anger; Super-momSuperp-equals Superstress; Choosing Happiness and Psyching Up for Fitness and Sport. A special feature of this con-ference will be a lunch hour presentation of five short plays by local playwrights, centered on the theme "Women in Relationships." The New Shakespeare Players will be performing and attendees are invited to "brown bag" their lun-ches in order to take advantage of this unique offering. Admission to this activity is free to conference registrants. Cost of the conference is $22 for postmarked by April 25 or $25.00 on day of con-ference.'
