Show Small Business Week to honor entrepreneurs The nation's 15 million small business owners will be honored during the 22nd annual national Small Business Week May 18-24. Under the theme, "Small Business is BIG Business in the ceremonies. They will include a young entrepreneur, a big business that helped to strengthen small business, a small business exporter and an innovative small business or a supporter of small business innovation. U.S.A.," contributions of small companies will be noted at local and state ceremonies and at special activities in Washington, D.C. Outstanding small business owners from each state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico will be singled out for special honors as national examples of success, advocacy ad-vocacy and community leadership. The "small business person of the year" will be selected from among the state winners, who were chosen by committees of their peers. Small Business Week, which was proclaimed by President Reagan, is coordinated by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
