Show Youth invited to Sock Hop by BECKI GRASS JOHNSON Where in the world will you wear the green knee socks with the little gray bunnies on them that Aunt Elaine sent for Christmas? Your time has come! Put on the most outrageous socks you own and attend at-tend the "Crazy Sock Hop" at the Manila Stake Center this Saturday night. This five-stake dance will begin at 8:30 p.m. and prizes will be awarded to some of the craziest pairs of socks there! The admittance ad-mittance charge is $1. Youth who plan on attending m ust be high school age and have a dance card " issued by their bishop. "We want any of the youth in the area to feel welcome to attend these ' dances," said Anne Pollman, Stake Young Women's President. "Any youth who are not members of the LDS Church need only to contact a local bishop and agree to dress and act according to church standards while at the dance. The bishop will then issue them a dance card." Church standards ban the use of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. No grubbies will be allowed. On the fourth Saturday of every; month, a five-stake dance will be hosted by the Manila Stake. The Manila Stake Center is located at 105 West, 1800 North. |
