Casper, age 13, son of Marvin and Joy Casper received his Eagle Scout Award, Thursday, Feb. 13. Patrick lives in Pleasant Grove and belongs to Troop 833, Ronald Hansen Scout Master. Patrick was the first scout in Timpanogas Stake to receive the Hid Pride Award for earning all the skill awards in cub scouting. He has also earned this Faith in God Award and On My Honor Award. For the past year he has been Den Leader and is presently troop ' historian. He is also a member of the Order of the Arrow. As an Eagle Project Patrick organized his troop to survey and install smoke detectors in the Pleasant Grove area. Scouting has become a hobby with Patrick and he hopes to attend Timberline this summer and Order of the Arrow activities. His other hobbies include hiking, camping, art, archery and model building. Loader Ave. Kris Ann, daughter of Ken and Louise Hiller, has been called to serve in the Canada, Calgary LDS Mission. She will enter the Missionary Training Center on Feb. 27. She is a graduate of Orem High School. All friends and relatives of the missionary are invited to her farewell. A missionary farewell in her honor will be held Sunday, Feb. 23, at 2:15 p.m. in the Lindon Sixth Ward. Ellene will enter the Missionary Training Center on March 6. She graduated in the top 10 per cent of her class at Pleasant Grove High School. She has attended SUSC for two years, majoring in math with a minor in computer science and business. She has been employed at Osborne Engineering in Riverton. All friends and relatives are in-vited to attend her farewell. Ellene Ann Bunker Missionary farewell planned for Elder Jeff N. Hamner Sunday Elder Jeff N. Hamner, son of John F. and Marylin N. Hamner, Pleasant Grove, has been called to serve in the Pittsburgh, Penn-sylvania LDS Mission. He will speak in a sacrament service Sunday, Feb. 23, at 11:30 a.m. in the Manila Sixth Ward Church, 475 W. 700 East, Pleasant Grove. An open house will also be held the same afternoon at the family home, 520 E. 700 North, Pleasant Grove. Elder Hamner will enter the Missionary Training Center on Feb. 27. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School where he played football for the varsity for two years. He took first place in the P.G. Invitational Wrestling Tour-nament his junior year. He has served as secretary of his Deacon and Teachers Quorums. He is an Eagle Scout. He has been Jeff N. Hamner employed by Utah Power and Light. "Correction.. ." C of C president to receive wet noodle thrashing for error The president of the Pleasant Grove-Lindo- n Area Chamber of Commerce deserves and is ready to receive 30 lashes with a wet noodle for not using the correct name of the chamber in an article last week. In the story about the installation of the new officers of the Chamber, the organization was listed as the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Com-merce. The actual name, and rightfully so, is the Pleasant Grove-Lindo- n Area Chamber of Com-merce. The Review is happy to make this correction and the writer will cer-tainly be taken to task for this oversight. Elder Kirk Uden to be honored at farewell Elder Kirk Uden, son of Wilferd and Cecilia Uden of Lindon, has been called to serve in the Milwaukee Wisconsin LDS Mission. He will speak in a sacrament service Sunday, Feb. 23, at 10:45 a.m. in the Lindon 5th Ward, 528 W. 100 South, Lindon. All friends and relatives are in-vited to attend. An open house will be held the same afternoon at the family home, 411 S. 800 West, Lindon. Your time has come! Put on the most outrageous socks you own and at-tend the "Crazy Sock Hop" at the Manila Stake Center this Saturday night. This five-stak- e dance will begin at 8:30 p.m. and prizes will be awarded to some of the craziest pairs of socks there! The ad-mittance charge is $1. Youth who plan on attending m ust be high school age and have a dance card issued by their bishop. "We want any of the youth in the area to feel welcome to attend these ' dances," said Anne Pollman, Stake Young Women's President. "Any youth who are not members of the LDS Church need only to contact a local bishop and agree to dress and act according to church standards while at the dance. The bishop will then issue them a dance card." Church standards ban the use of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. No grubbies will be allowed. On the fourth Saturday of every; month, a five-stak- e dance will be hosted by the Manila Stake. The Manila Stake Center is located at 105 West, 1800 North. P.G. East Stake plans Gold and Green Ball The Pleasant Grove East Stake will hold a Gold and Green Ball on Friday, Feb. 28, from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Stake Center, 825 S. Loader Drive. The event is best dress. It is open to adults and youth age 12 and over. Parents are invited to attend with their young people. There will be a floorshow with each ward in the stake contributini a number. There is no charge. Plan now tc attend. Stakes plan cancer screening clinic The Pleasant Grove and Pleasant Grove East Stakes will sponsor a women's cancer clinic on Tuesday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 E. 500 South.
