Photo by Marc Nicholes. 1" - ' i s Stop signs stolen Frank Mills, Pleasant Grove's Public Works Director, said there has been a rash of stop sign thefts in the community recently. Mills noted that six signs have been taken in the past two weeks. He said he did not know why the signs were being taken but it was creating serious safety problems as well as being very costly to the taxpayers. The signs cost $15 each and in many cases the poles have had to be replaced, too. Even of more serious consequence, con-sequence, he said, is the possibility of a serious accident at an intersection in-tersection where a stop sign is -missing.- .. . ., . . . . He urged everyone to leave the stop signs in place and asked parents to be alert to any stop signs which might be showing up in their homes. Mills said that sometimes teenagers will use the signs to decorate their rooms, but asked that they not take those belonging to the community. Lonnie Harris' mother led the cheers as Lonnie won the state championship. |
