Show Resident of the month Review - Wednesday, February 26, 1986 - Page 5 named at Lindon center r . .. .- Ruby Smith has been selected to be resident of the month at Lindon Care and Training Center. Ruby was born on March 19, 1934 in Grand Junction, Colo., to James and Clara Smith. Prior to coming to Lindon Care and Training, she lived at Larsen's Nursing Home in Lehi. In November she started working at the American Fork Workshop and really enjoys her job. She is a good worker and is excited to go every morning. Before she started working at the workshop, she had a job in the facility washing the handrails in the halls. Ruby enjoys swimming and dancing. She is active in all ac-tivities at the facility and outside. Ruby Smith Julie Major to enter mission field Julie Major, daughter of Duke and Joana Major, will be departing for the Tokyo South Mission on March 4. She entered the Missionary Training Center on Jan. 2. Her farewell was held in the Manila Third Ward. She will be serving as a missionary for 18 months. Julie graduated from Pleasant Grove High School where she was active in A Cappella Choir, drama, dance, FBLA and was secretary of her senior class. She was a Sterling Scholar candidate. She has attended BYU where she is a junior majoring in business management. Pat Roberts retires after 12 years at Lindon facility Pat Roberts, who has been the consultant registered nurse at Lindon Care and Training Center since 1974, is leaving her post to take a position at American Fork Hospital. Pat was honored Friday by her associates at Lindon Care and Training Center. She will become the manager in the Emergency Department at the American Fork Hospital. Pat lives in American Fork and she and her husband, Brent, are the parents of nine children. She graduated from Brigham Young University in 1962 with a B. S. degree. She has worked as a nurse at the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, California and at a Las Vegas hospital where she received a lot of experience in many areas. The Ohio native has been working parttime at American Fork Hospital since 1974 as well as serving as a consultant for the Lindon facility. Pat Roberts Pat enjoys skiing, genealogy and running and has run in several of the hospital races. Gold and Green Ball planned at P.G. East Stake Center "Winter Song" will be the theme of the Pleasant Grove East Stake Gold and Green Ball wliich will be held Friday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. in the Stake Center, 825 S. Loader Drive. The dance is for adults and all youth age 12 and over. Youth aged 12--14 should be accompanied, by adults. It is best dress. There will be a floorshow with each ward in the stake providing a special number.' There is no charge and refresh-ments will be served. The dance will last until 11 p.m. ,. The dance is under the direction of. ' the stake Activities Committee. : Valley View PTA to hold general meeting for parents A general meeting of the Valley View Elementary School PTA will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at the school. The public is invited to attend. Second grade students will be per-forming patriotic music on their recorders and there will be a speaker from the P.E.R.C. Center. |
