Show Police officer saves man's live A Pleasant Grove Police Officer responding to a citizen report stopped a pedestrian March 5 just before he walked into the side of a moving train on Center Street. . Officer Cody Cullimore said that the man was about 25 feet from the train when he reached him and took him to the side of the road. An unidentified caller had told police dispatchers that the man was unsteady un-steady on his feet and walking in the roadway. Officer Cullimore said it appeared the man had fallen several times as he had cuts and scrapes on his face and hands. The officer stated that he did not believe the man had seen the train although the signal lights were flashing. The incident occurred at about 7:10p.m. Officer Cullimore arrested the man for public intoxication. ' In other police matters, a vehicle driven by Mary A. Gossard. 16. ran into a home owned by John Oscarson, 1040 E. 200 South, causing S4.000 to $5,000 damage to the home. Officer Cullimore said the girl had pulled into the driveway and her engine died. As she tried to start the car. the brakes failed and the car rolled into the support post between the two garages. No one was injured in the mishap and the car was not damaged. Robin Wardle. 700 S. 1680 East, reported that a Schwinn BMX type bicycle was stolen sometime during the last two months. The officer reported the bike was put away for the winter in the garage and the owners just noticed it was missing. The bike was valued at $280. Barbara Barton, Salt Lake City, told Officer Jeff Wilson that as she drove on 200 No. at 200 West someone shot the car window with a BBgun. The shot shattered the window which was valued at S150. The damage occurred on the passenger side and the passenger said she felt the impact of the shot. There were no injuries. Don Gover, 34 S. 600 East, reported that a 20 inch Murray BMX bike had been left outside the house on Friday and was missing on Saturday. The bike was valued at $50, according ac-cording to Officer Dave Vickers. Lori A. Davis, 22, 135 W. 335 North, Lindon, was the driver of a car which was forced off the road at 1530 West State Road when an oncoming car crossed the yellow line. Ms. Davis car then hit a utility pole. The driver received a head laceration and injuries to the heck and hip. Her passenger, Melanee Marlin, 20, American Fork, also received minor injuries. They were transported to American Fork Hospital by Pleasant Grove Ambulance. They were treated and released. Damage to the Davis car was set at $1,500 and there was $200 damage to the Utah Power and Light pole. Carl Haupt, 785 W. 600 North, Lindon, tried to release a dog which was caught in a trap and was bitten for his efforts. Officer Cullimore said the man was going to take the dog to the Lindon Animal Control Officer. After the dog bit the man it ran off and has not been located. The officer said that Mr. Haupt was treated at American Fork Hospital. Kevin Fisher, 720 E. Center, Lindon, reported that his Schwinn dirt bike had been stolen. He forgot he had taken the bike to school and when he returned the next morning the bike was gone. The bike is valued at $199.27. Kevin Johnson, 33 S. 200 East, Lindon, reported that a Mongoose racing bike valued as $200 had been taken after his brother left it at school. Two juveniles were referred to juvenile court after they were arrested for taking two fire extinguishers ex-tinguishers from school buses. The boys had broken into three buses which were located at 99 S. 200 East, Main and Center in the church parking lot, and at 200S. 200 East in the Aliens Super Market parking lot. The extinguishers were recovered undamaged, according to Officer Cullimore. . k. A A |
