Show Review - Wednesday, April 3, 1985 - Page n Cap and gown photographs available Pleasant Grove High School seniors and any other interested persons can have double exposure pictures taken on April 29 and 30. Barbara Baxter, scholarship chairman of the Pleasant Grove High School PTSA, said the annual photo sessions are sponsored by the PTSA in order to raise money for scholarships. Cap and gown pictures of the seniors will be taken by appointment as will photos of other students, families, individuals, couples, etc. The double exposure picture is very popular and features two poses of the subject on one photograph. Rex Adams Photography will do the pictures. More information will be coming later. Back, Arlan Ostergaard, Joseph llowarth, Grant Keeler and Dail Nielson. Absent was Vince Nelson. Bruce Van Orden sustained as bishop Bruce A. Van Orden has been sustained as bishop of the Lindon Sixth Ward with W. Rudolf Poecker as first counselor and Tim Hump-hrey as second counselor. Released were Bishop Eldon Tanner and counselors Vance Keetch and M. Taylor Abegg and Bill Slater, ward clerk. Clerks sustained in the new bishopric are Arlan Ostergaard, executive secretary; Grant Keeler, Ward clerk; Dail Nielson, finance clerk; Joseph Howarth, historical clerk; and Vince Nelson, statistical clerk. Bishop Van Orden is a college curriculum writer for the Church Education System. He is a former member of the Gospel Doctrine Writing Committee. He has taught 15 years in theCES. He is a former high councilor in Iwo stakes. He is married to the former Karen Hoyal of El Monte, Calif., and they are the parents of four children, j Stephen, Kaye, Michael, and Rachel. Rudolf was born in East Germany. When he was seven his family came v .to the United States. They lived in Mesa, Ariz., and then moved to Orem. He graduated from Orem High School and served an LUS Mission in Southern Germany. Upon his return he married Cynthia Hall of Pleasant Grove. Shortly after his marriage he was inducted into the Army and served in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Vietnam. After the service he finished his junior year at BYU and then was hired to work at U. S. Steel in the Engineering Dept. Tim was born in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. He served an LDS Mission in Hong Kong. He has been a Seventy since 1971 serving in the Pleasant Grove and Lindon Stakes. He has attended BYU where he received his Master's Degree in 1971. He has been employed with Alpine School District for 18 years as Speech and Hearing Therapist. He specializes in Audiology at Lindon Elementary School. He also works with the han-dicapped people in the area. He and his wife, Sandy, have five children: LeRan, JaLaine, Joanna, Corey and Jason. Tim enjoys singing, sports, scouting, and river running. Arlan is currently in construction. He has served a full time mission in the Northern States. He has served as executive secretary in two prior bishoprics, has been a counselor in the Elders Quorum, counselor in the Sunday School and a Sunday School and Primary worker. He raises horses as a hobby. He and his wife, the former Claudia Berthold of Centerville, have one son, Tyrel. Joseph is employed by UDOT. He enjoys hunting and fishing. His wife, Marion, is the Lindon City Secretary. Dail is employed by Utah Power and Light in Salt Lake as a compuer programmer. He is a former Elders Quorum president, is currently a Webelos leader and has been a Den leader. He and his wife, Mary G. Ken-worth-are the parents of nine children. He received his B.S. from BYU and his Master's from Purdue University. He enjoys playing racquetball. Grant retired from the Air Force in 1971. His hobbies are gardening, skiing and camping. He and his wife, Rayola, returned from a mission in Ireland in December of 1984. There they worked with inactive members and spent the last eight months microfilming genealogical in-formation. History class to begin Thursday A four-sessio- n class on Pleasant Grove history starts this week at Pleasant Grove Junior High. Lifetime residents of Pleasant Grove will be presenting historical stories and facts from the early settlement of the city through the present. Manila area history will be taught April 4 by Effie Adams. Drucilla Smith will discuss G Mountain, Monkey Town and Battlecreek Tower on April 11. Ruby Warnick will follow on April 25 with character sketches of prominent Pleasant Grove residents. A general overview of Pleasant Grove history will finalize the class May 2, taught by Eleroy West.
