Florence Marie Kolstad Viklund will celebrate her 80th birthday on Nov. 14 with a family dinner in her honor on Sunday, Nov. 17, in Alpine at the home of her daughter, Joan Healey. She was born Nov. 14, 1905 in Alpine, the daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Healey. She is the youngest of seven children and is the only one left of her family. She married Harold D. Kolstad on March 25, 1931 in Long Beach, Calif., where she was working at the time. They lived in Compton, Calif, for several years before moving to Utah. After the death of her husband on May 17, 1961, she met and married Victor P. Viklund on Jan. 6, 1967. He died on Nov. 10, 1984. She has lived in Lindon for the past 18 years. She has worked at various jobs most of her life and retired from the Utah State Training bcnooi after working there for 20 years. She has been a visiting teacher for 40 years and enjoyed singing in the ward choirs. One of the highlights she likes to remember is the opportunity to sing in the Salt Lake Tabernacle with the Relief Society chorus. While she was married to Victor they had the , opportunity to do temple work. Her children are: Edgar H. Kolstad, Carmichael, Calif.; Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Volkman, Meridian, Ida.; Mrs. Elvin (Joan) Healey, Alpine. Step-children are: Glen Viklund, Salt Lake; Ray Viklund, Chino, Calif.; Mrs. Boyd (Helen) Warnick, Taylorsville; and Mrs. Robert (Mary) McKay of Pleasant Grove. She has 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 22 step grandchildren and 25 step great grandchildren. Florence Marie Viklund |
