Show Review - Wednesday, October 10, 1984 - Page 6 Home birth garners baby quilt By CINDY LLOYD On Sunday, August 26, at 2:05 a.m. Cindy Mitchell of 520 So. 1250 East in Pleasant Grove delivered at home a baby boy. It was not in-tended to be a home birth. Cindy said her husband, Mark, delivered the baby after twenty minutes of labor, on the hallway floor, minutes before the ambulance arrived. Cindy and her husband laid sheets down on the floor when she realized they would not make it to the hospital in time. Cindy usually has very quick labor and had almost delivered her last baby at home. Michael Mosiah Mitchell is the seventh baby for the Mitchells. Michael weighed seven pounds and one ounce. Cindy said her husband was extremely calm throughout the delivery and when he discovered the umbilical cord wrapped around the baby's neck he slowly turned the baby around in order to unravel the cord. The fact that the delivery was normal was a great relief to the Mitchells. Cindy's other babies had been posterior and one a breech. Angie Huber and Linda Chipman, paramedics and also friends of Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell, arrived within three to five minutes of the birth and took care of Mrs. Mitchell until she and the baby were safely at the hospital. .' --v K j f j : ; rf I' ?
