I had two occasions of this lately and it has been great. The first happened when one of my best girlhood friends and I finally set a date to meet in Salt lakc and spend the day. She still lives in Ogden and when we see each other we always say we are going to get together and then we never do. Everyone does that. Well, last fall her husband said, "Why do you guys always say this and then never get together?" So we decided we were definitely going to do it. It look us til August but we did do it. In the meantime, after we set the date and two days before it was to be, another friend called from Ogden to say she and her family were out here from Illinois where they live now. I asked her to join us but she didn't think she would be able to. All three of us had been friends as children. Although I sec Majorie Ann once in a while when I go to Ogden to visit the folks, I rarely see Doraine but we do write at Christmas and birthdays. I have known Doraine, who lived just two doors north of me, from the time I was seven years old until she got married and moved away. I met Marjorie Ann when I was 12 because her mom and mine were in the same club and they thought we should meet. When the time came to say goodbye I almost cried. I did not want to go. They asked me to come home to Ogden with them and I was tempted but my mutual girls were coming to the house for a party that evening. Doraine and her husband were going to dinner that night with another of our very good friends and she asked Marjorie Ann to go along. How I would have loved to go. Instead I did my duty and came home. The next incident happened the following Sunday. Actually, on Friday one of my old BYU. roommates, room-mates, Jan, had called from Provo to say they had moved back to Green River, Wyo., and she was down to see her kids in Provo. She did live in Ohio. She said that now that she was fairly close it would be nice to see Colleen, another BYU roomate, when she came up from California. I said I would let her know when Colleen was coming. Sitting here in Utah as I do I get to see each of them on occasion but we never all get together at the same time.
