The Wasatch Bank team had dropped the first game to Little Acorn of the American Fork League, 3-0, with Lonnie Gleave dazzling the Bank players with a vicious "knuckle ball." Trailing 5-3 in the second and final game, Brannin got hold of a Butch Dunn fast ball and drove it ove the centerfield fence, scoring Terry Seamons who had singled. With the game tied, Alan Bjarnson got a hit followed by Alan Green's single and with two strikes, Parry bounced the ball between third and short to score the winning run. Ed Anderson were 9 for 16 during the tourney, with John Beck having an excellent tourney with 7 for 13. |
