Main - P.G. 785-044- 8 i Manila Stake Youth To Present 'The Gift' Youth of the Manila Stake will present a musical production "The Gift" on July 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Manila Stake Center. The production is open to the public and is free. "The Gift" was written by Jeaneen Brady. It is a new and inspiring musical state-ment on life and the meaning of love. It was produced at HYU last summer. Because of the depth of the message of this production, only those age 12 and older should attend. The presentation is under the direction of Lindon Howard with Nancy Larson as musical director and Cam Mosher as drama director. Liston, Pleasant Grove are being exhibited during July at the ZCMI Tiffin Room. The two have been friends since they at-tended American Fork High School together, and got together a few years ago to take classes in art and to participate in art exhibits. They have studied under well-know- n area artists and have at-tended Utah Technical College at Provo-Ore-studying art. They are both members of the Utah Valley Artists Guild, the American Fork City Art Board, and the Artists Section of the Provo Women's Council. Mrs. Liston has won many awards for her work, including first place in the professional division of this years Steel Days Art Exhibit. A native of Oregon, she is the widow of the late Merrill Liston, and the mother of thee children. She has one grandchild. She is employed as a dark room technicial for the American Fork Citizen. She has painted for the past 19 years, and is particularly fond of still lifes and portraits. She believes art is not just a matter of talent, but is 99 percent hard work. Mrs. Allen is a correspondent in the American Fork area for the Daily Herald. She became interested in painting after her children were raised. She has exhibited work at the Provo Utilities with Mrs. Liston, and - had paintings accepted at the April Art Salon in Springville this spring, and at the Tribute to Women art exhibit in the Salt Lake City LDS Relief Society Building. She received an honorable mention award at the Steel Days Art Exhibit this year. She is the wife of Paul Allen. They have three children and are the grandparents of two. . Ray is the son of Eugene and Mary Bezzant. Ray has been active in scouting and athletics earning his eagle scout award and has played basketball for the Pleasant Grove High School and is currently representing his ward and the Utah National Parks council in the National Olympics being held in Fort Collins, Colorado. Ray Graduated from the Pleasant Grove High School and the RAY L. BEZZANT Pleasant Grove Sem-inary in May of 1981. He also completed a years study at the Brigham Young University. All friends and relatives are in-vited to attend Ray's testimonial. Ellene Ann Bunker is State Finalist in Teen Pageant Miss Ellene Ann Bunker, age 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bunker of Lindon, Utah has been selected to be a State Finalist in the 1982 Miss United Teenager Pageant to he held at the University of Utah at 7:30 p.m. on July 27 1982. The Pageant is the Official State-Wid- e Finals for the Miss United Teenager Pageant. Contestants from all over the State will be competing for the title. All Contestants are between the ages of 14 and 18 and must have at least a "B" average in school. They are requested to participate in the Volunteer Community Service Program of the Miss United Teenager Pageant. Through this program many youngsters are becoming involved in Community activities by contributing at least 8 hours of time to some worthwhile Charity or Civic work of their choice. The winner of the State Finals of the Miss United Teenager Pageant will receive an paid trip to compete in the National Finals, a three phase pageant in Hollywood, California, Honolulu, Hawaii and Washington D.C.; where she will compete for $15,000 in Cash Scholarships, a new automobile for her reigning year, $5,00 personal appearance contract, $2,00 wardrobe and other awards. Contests will be judged on Scholastic, Civic Achievements, Beauty, Poise and Personality. No swimsuit competition is required. Each contestant will write and recite on stage a 100 word "Essay" on the subject, "My Country". Miss Ellene Bunker is sponsored by Grannys Donuts, Orem; Christensens Department Store, Pleasant Grove; and Deseret Bank, Pleasant Grove. She is a student at Pleasant Grove High School. Elder Miles has been called to serve in the Osaka, Japan LDS Mission. He enters the MTC on July 22. He is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and Seminary.
