Show Wednesday, December 22, 1982 - Page Jl Obituaries Miquel Mike Herrera Miquel Mike Herrera, age 73, died Dec. 15, 1982 in the American Fork Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1909 in Questa, New Mexico to Jesus and Isabel Redding Herrera. He married Eva Martinez Dec. 9, 1944, in Questa, New Mexico. He was a for-mer employee of American Fork City. He is survived by his wife, two sons and four daughters, Elevi Herrera, Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Leo (Estelle) Weber, Highland; Frank Herrera, American Fork; Mrs. Ruth Chatwin, American Fork; Mrs. Amos (Elsie) Merrill, Layton; Mrs. Harold (Lucy) Hansen, Orem. 18 grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, Florencio Redding, Grand Junction, Colo.; Jim Herrera, American Fork; Cleo Bernal, Salt Lake City. Funeral services were held Monday in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. Notice of Public Hearing (Application for Community Develop-ment Block Grant) Pleasant Grove City will be making ap-plication to the Mountainland Assocat-io- n of Governments for a community block grant. These grant funds are avilable to communities in the state through the Community Block Grant Program of the Federal Government. The categories of projects that qualify for funding are: Public facilities im-provements, Economic development, Rehabili-tation or preservation activities, Acquisition and disposition of real property and Public services activities. The project requested must accomplish at least one of the following goals: benefit low and moderate income families, or prevent or eliminate urban blight or serve an urgent need of the community's health, safety or welfare. The City Council is requesting input on possible projects using community develop-ment block grant funds from citizens at a public hearing that will be held January 4, 1983 at 7:15 p.m. in the city hall. Possible projects being considered but not limited to the following: construction of an ad-ditional water storage tank, equipping the Grovecreek well and construction of new city shops. Other ideas for projects will be con-sidered at this public hearing. Citizens are encouraged to attend this meeting and ex-press their ideas.
