The 16.33 acre site q will be used as the location of a new cultural arts center, according to 0 Betty N. Brady, chairman of the Utah Pageant of the Arts board of trustees. 0 Alpine Board of Education presi dent Dan B. Fugal represented the 0 district in the transfer, accepting the Pageant down payment. Terms of 0 the sale require quarterly payments by the Pageant, with an option to q repurchase retained by the district if the Pageant cannot raise funds to q complete the proposed cultural arts center at the end of 21 years. 0 Negotiations for the site have been underway for the last three years, 0 with preliminary plans for the arts center based on extensive remodel-ing of the existing building(s) to retain the historical value of the original building which was con-structed in 1912. The junior high unit was added in 1931 and both buildings were left empty when the building was replaced by the new American Fork Junior High School in 1975. Kay Christensen, chairman of the Pageant development committee, announced a major fund raising to finance building costs for the cultural arts center last March. Dr. Dale Greenwood (dentist) was recently named chairman of the Alumni Committee to raise money for purchase of the property through donations from students of American Fork High School of American Fork Junior High at $1 per square foot. Donations received before Dec. 31 will be tax deductible for 1982. Dr. Greenwood will announce the full Alumni program in approximately two weeks, Mrs. Brady said. Santa reveals life's ups and downs Santa - Well, sometimes that is hard, for instance, last year a couple of toy designer elves had been to the dentist and had a healthy dose of happy gas. They came back to the shop and being a little silly, the rascals designed My Puppy Puddles and Baby Diaper Rash. I didn't notice until putting the toys out the doll had a scowl on her face and a rash on her bottom, and the puppy had left a puddle. But at that late date I couldn't do much about it. 0 In revenge the same elves have this . C year designed "Bye --bye Diapers," a little doll with a potty chair ... we'll see how it goes. Ho!
