Patricia graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. In high school she served as Varsity Cheer Leader and competed in State gymnastics. She is presently employed at Grand Central, American Fork. Kurt is presently em-ployed at Myrons Auto Wrecking, Orem. Attending the bride as bridesmaids will be Christina Keeling, Bar- - Arlo K. Atkin and Myrna Jarvis Myrna Jarvis and Arlo K. Atkin to Wed in Temple Mr. and Mrs. Wendyl L. Jarvis of Lindon are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter Myr-na to Mr. Arlo K. Atkin, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Atkin of Ventura, Calif. The ceremony will be performed November 17, 1978 by Benjamin Bowering in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. There will be a recep-tion the same evening at the Pleasant Grove Stake Center from 7:30 to 10 p.m. All friends and relatives are in-vited to attend. Myrna graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. While in High School she was active in Creative Writing, CDTA and Pep Club, serving as Historian in Pep Club. She received an Associate Degree in CDFR from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. She is presently attending BYU. Arlo graduated from Buena High School and LDS Seminary in Ven tura California. He was active in Athletics and Student Government-H- e attended Ventura City College and was active in Student Government and ser-ved as Student president of the LDS institute. He served as LDS Missionary in the Los Angeles California Mission. He is curren-tly attending BYU in the field of Public Relations. Maids of honor will be LeAnn and Janell Jarvis. Serving as Brides Maids will be Laurie Rose Jarvis, Chris Atkin Day, and Stacey Walker, with Vickie Walker and Debra Cook as flower girls. Lamar Layton will serve as best man along with Mark Jarvis and David Atkin. A Bridal Shower was given by Nancy Fullmer. After a honeymoon in California the couple will make their first home in Provo where they will continue their education. Eagles Set Dinner Dance Saturday Nite The Fraternal Order of Eagles of Pleasant Grove, will hold a din-ner dance on Saturday November 18. Honoring the 10th an-niversary of the Ladies Auxiliary. Worthy President, Charles Carson reports those honored will be Madam President Sherry Elliott, Junior past Madam President Jo Anne Zimmerman, past Presidents Darlene Loock, Jean Bourne, Shirley Cook who is also serving as Auxiliary Mother, Lenora Garner, Ruline King, Judy Bourne, Brenda Stagg, Bonnie Andeson and Helen Hall who is also serving as Madam Vice President for the Utah State Auxiliary. A Social Hour will be held from 7 to 8 p.m with dinner being ser-ved by Aerie members at 8 p.m. There will be a minimum fee for the dinner for Aerie mem-bers, no fee for the Ladies. Guest speaker for the evening will be Buzz Moss. Dancing for the evening will start at 9. Todd A. Meranda and Lisa Marie Bonsignore Lisa Bonsignore and Todd Meranda Plan Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rocco Bonsignore, of Grand Jet., Colo, an-nounce the engagement of their daughter, Lisa Marie, to Todd Allen Meranda, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen M. Meranda, of Lindon, Utah. The couple has set the wedding date for November 17, 1978 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Provo, Uta at 4 p.m. A reception will be held at the Alpine Country Club at 8 p.m. Attending the bride will be Mrs. Sheryl Bonsignore, matron of honor. Mrs. Patty Meranda, Angela Juliano, Carrie Maurine, Terri Burns, Tina Bonsignore, and Camile Bonsignore. Best man will be Mr. Michael Meranda. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. Greg Lloyd and Christine Davis Christine Davis , Greg Lloyd to Wed on Dec. 2 Christine Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon J. McCarty Executive Secretory Utah Education Association Several decades ago, American schools were being vigorously criticized for any num-ber of real or imagined failings, and somebody decided to do something about it. That's when 'American Education Week' was born. On Monday, Nov. 13, the Battlecreek Camp of Daughters of Utah Pioneers met at the home of Iona Weyland. Captan Maymetta Johnson was in charge and welcomed everyone. Praver was given by Chaplain Alta Hone. Secretary Cora Bez-zan- t gave the minutes and called the roll. Lesson leader Viola Cowley gave a very in-teresting lesson on Old Samplers. These sam-plers came into use during the 16th Cen-tury. The earliest men-tion of them was in 1502. The earliest sam-pler known to exist was from Germany and is dated 1615. Mrs. Cowley told stories of different women and girls and their lives and sam-plers. The custom of making samplers was brought to America from England. By the time a girl was 8 years old she was supposed to be skilled enough in making samplers to have them displayed. Usually there was a verse with a religious theme in it. Historian Eva Proc-tor showed pictures of different homes and explained about making scrapbooks of Pleasant Grove events of interest to the DUP. The ceremony will be performed by an uncle of the bride, Elder Rex C. Reeve of the First Quorum of Seventy. An open house will honor the young couple that same night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl A. Beck, 90 East Center, Pleasant Grove, grandparents of the prospective groom, from 7:30 to 9:30. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. A reception will also be hosted by parents of the bride, on Satur-day, November 25 in Laramie, Wyoming. Doris is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene A. Pratt, Laramie. She is a student at BYU, majoring in music. Richard is the son of Phillip Richard and Pearl Beck Heilbut, formerly of SLC, but now residing in Fresno, Calif. He filled a mission for the Chur-ch to the Gulf States. Since his return he has made his home with his grandparents and has been employed in Pleasant Grove, and has also been attending BYU, where he is majoring in business management and recreation, during the past two summers he has been affiliated with the Pleasant Grove City Recreation, along with his regular work and school. Attending the bride will be a sister, Kay Pratt. Duties of best man will be performed by Craig Heilbut, brother of the bridegroom. Following a brief honeymoon, the young couple will make their home in Pleasant Grove. Mark C. Sanderson and Erin Carroll Erin Carroll and Mark C. Sanderson Plan Wedding BYU. She dances with International Folk Dancers and toured Europe and Israel with them this past summer. The groom is also a Pleasant Grove High graduate and will graduate from the BYU in December in therapy. He has wrestled four years with the BYU Varsity and has also served a mission to Korea-Pusa-for the LDS Church. Following their marriage the couple will make their first home in Pleasant Grove. Erin Leslie Carroll and Mark C. Sanderson have announced wed-ding plans for Wed-nesday, Nov. 22 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Erin is the daughter of Marguerite Carroll of Pleasant Grove, and the groom's parents are Norman and Emily Sanderson also of Pleasant Grove. A reception honoring the young couple is planned for that same evening, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Sixth-Tent- h Ward Cultural Hall, 475 North 700 East, Pleasant Grove, and all friends and relatives are invited to attend.
