Show MAKE DOGHOUSES Brent Steele, David Jacklin and Bruce Wathen hold and help as Rich Powers saws the side of their doghouse. Lindon Students Learn to Build, Make Doghouses Ever saw a straight line or hammer in a 16 penny nail without bending it? This is not the easiest job to do. It takes practice prac-tice and experience, lots of it. Bruce Wathen 's sixth grade class is having many such experiences making dog houses. They are sawing, nailing and assembling doghouses they previously drew plans for. As you observe this activity you see varied degrees of ability. You cannot help but be amazed at the interest and care being displayed. The saw cuts are really impressive as the straight one shown in the picture is. There are a few hammer marks but not as many as you might suppose. As you explore the many different skills and experience the students have had in this undertaking it has to rank high in the educational ladder of opportunity. |
