Clyde Green and John Livingston had the two rbi's for Intermountain Gift. Southam-Warburton 9 - Carters 6 S&W surprized CartersPrecision, 9-6, when Mike Harris hit a two run homer for S&W in the top of the seventh to cap a four run rally. Dave Clingo, with some late inning help from Kay Hansen, did the pitching pit-ching for S&W. Playboys 13 - Intermountain Pipe 4 The Playboys overwhelmed Intermountain In-termountain Pipe, 13-4. Seven of the nine Playboys had one or more hits and Tom Hamman drew three walks. Rick Cook drove in three runs wilth a triple and a sacrifice fly. Kurt Faux had three hits for the Pipe team and Paul Hebbert added a pair. In a marathon that was anything but a pitchers dual, Wil's upset Packs 15-14 in last weeks KPGR's city game of the week. When the leagues leading hitter, Steve Francom was intentionally walked in the third inning, Grant Atkinson stepped up and cleaned the bases with an opposite field grand slam to boost Packs to a 6-1 lead. Francom followed in the fourth with a three run shot that landed 70 feet beyond the right field fence. Wil's had scored four runs in the top half of the fourth to tie the score at six. After Francom's home run and Packs leading 9-6, it looked like another win for the Big Red. However, Wil's put together a six run inning with the aid of several "deflected" "deflec-ted" ground balls. A walk, error and singles by Clarence Wilson and Bucky Piatt added ad-ded three runs for Wil's in the top of the seventh. Jack Watkins, Alan Green, Stan Pack and Ed Anderson started the final half inning for Packs with four straight singles. At' that point, LeRoy Maughan was called on to relieve Whitey Ratliff. Maughn got two outs before Francom drove in the final Pack run with a base hit and then got the final out on a fly ball to right field. When the three hour marathon was over, Wils had handed Packs their first league defeat in two years. Mike Elmer went 4-5 for Packs and Jon hoover did the same for Wil's. Hoover also had a solo home run in the third inning.
