Show Mountain Bell Offers New Way to Make Calls Pleasant Grove telephone customers will have a new way to place operator-assisted Long Distance Distan-ce calls beginning on July 19. It's called Zero-Plus Dialing and the system will speed up operator-handled operator-handled Long Distance calling by 50 percent. According to Mike Andrews, Mountain Bell's customer services manager in American Fork, Zero-Plus Dialing offers increased billing accuracy ac-curacy and is easy to use. "You activate the system by dialing "O", then immediately continuing con-tinuing with the Long Distance number, num-ber, " Andrews said. If your call is out of state, remember to use the area code. While the call is going through, an operator will come on the line to determine the type of call (collect, credit card, etc.) and billing number, if applicable." Coin telephones in the area have instruction cards explaining how to use Zero-Plus Dialing. Customers will be instructed to dial "1" plus the number or station on directory assistance calls, and "o" plus on other types of calls. The operator will come on the line to quote and collect charges when required. While Zero-Plus Dialing is the newest innovation in operator-handled operator-handled calls, Direct Distance Dialing ("1" Plus) is still the most economical way for telephone customers to place their Long Distance calls. |
