Don Fenton, District President of Friends said, "We are really working hard for the successof this dance. We are anticipating a large crowd and hope to use the money to keep the program running as strong as it has in the past." Friends District officers who coordinate activities and do supplemental training are: President, Don Fenton; Secretary, Laura Topaum; Activities Shannon Ward; Public Relations Director, Tonia Rushan; and Treasurer, A. Jay Eves. Serving for the coming year as presidents and representatives to the District Council for the coming year are:from this area Linda Ivie, Pleasant Grove; Terry Kresge, Orem; Nicki Riehle, On July 29th, from 8:30 to 11:30, the Friends Program of Utah, with the help of KEYY, will be sponsoring a Pioneer Celebration dance with Windfield Rush. The dance will be held at the new Utah Technical College Rooftop Plaza, 800 West 1200 South in Orem. Admission will be $1.49, with the proceeds going to furthering the Friends Program objectives. Highlights of the evening will be a dance contest and door prizes donated by "Things Remembered, the Com-petition, Fashion Fabrics, Checkpoint, The Spice Rack and the The Company." Invitations to participate in the outdoor dance are issued to City residents and all county youth, since Friends extends throughout Utah, Wasatch and Salt Lake Counties, as well as in Rupert, American Fork. I s . X Donee Students Prepare for Summer Concert Students of Jacqueline Colledge, former soloist with Ballet West, are preparing for their summer 'concert. The performances will be held August 10 and 11 at 8:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove High School. This year the program offers their traditional story ballet featuring the children. As well as an added section of pieces of a more style. The evening will close with the classical ballet choreographed to show the line as well technique of the dancers. Tickets will be available at the door each evening. There will be a special admission rate for senior citizens. AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE EX-TENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH. Background 1. On the 1st day of June 1977 Don C. Taylor and Kim Turner, the owners of real property as shown by the last assessment rolls, situated in the tract herein described, requested that said tract of land be taken within the limits of Pleasant Grove City. 2. Petitioner caused an accurate plot or map to b' made and certified to by a competent surveyor to be filed with the City Recorder together with said petition. 3. Said tract of land is contiguous to Pleasant Grove City and there is no proper reason why it should not be annexed to and made a part of said city. 4. The City Council at a regular meeting held on June 7, 1977, after examining said petition of the said owners and considering the cir-cumstances thereof voted by vote of more than two-third- s of all members of the City Council in favor of annexing said tract of land to Pleasant Grove City and directed that an ordinance should be passed annexing said territory and extension of the city limits of Pleasant Grove City accord-ingly. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Pleasant Grove City, Utah: Section 1. .That the city limits of Pleasant Grove be and the same are hereby extended and enlarged so as to include the following described tract of land in Utah County, to wit: is hereby directed to file with the State Tax Commission within 10 days of the passage of this ordinance notice of the annexation accomplished by this ordinance. Such notice shall contain a certification by the secretary that all necessary legal requirements relating to such annexation have been fully completed. In the opinion of the City Council it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of Pleasant Grove City that this ordinance take effect upon its first publication.
