Show Legion Ladies Unit 70 Meet Last Thursday, Oct. 28 Members of American Legion Leg-ion Auxiliary Unit 70 met at the home of Lucile H. Walker, Unit 70 Legislative chairman, Thursday afternoon, Oct. 28. The meeting was conducted by Arvilla Harvey, second vice president. After singing "America," directed di-rected by Arsenath Walser, Mrs. Harvey introduced Phylis Van Wagenen, of Provo, First Vice President of Auxiliary District Dis-trict Four. Mrs. Van Wagenen gave greetings and spoke words of encouragement to those present. pres-ent. Mrs. Walker gave an instructive instruc-tive and stimulating talk on "Legislation" emphasizing the need for new and more stringent string-ent laws relative to the spread of Communism. She pointed out that past legislation leg-islation has helped the Communists Com-munists to achieve their goal to take over the government of the United States by 1973. "This they hope to do by destroying Christian religion, stimulating moral decay, promoting bigger national government, encouraging encour-aging bankruptcy, unilateral disarmament and racial strife," Mrs. Walker said. Refreshments were served by hostesses Florence Holt, Gertrude Richards and Mrs. Walker. Fourteen members were present. |
