Miss Carter is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl S. Carter of Pleasant Grove. She is pre-sently a senior at Pleasant Grove High School. Mi-- . Rhoades is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rhoades of Orem. He attended Orem High School. He is employed at Geneva 66 in Orem. Attending the bride will be Judy Johnson, Annett Billings, Bonnie Rhoades, La Wana Rhoades, and a sister Brenda Carter. The couple plan to make their home in Orem. ' : ' '" ' - V - 1 " MISS CAROLYN BEZZANT AND TIM QHRISTOFFERSON Carolyn Bezzant, Tim Christofferson Will Marry on Nov. 23 in LDS Temple Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bezzant are happy to announce the en-gagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Car-olyn to Timothy Christofferson, son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul V. Christofftrson of Delta, Utah. The Christoffersons are form-erly from Glenview, Illinois. Timothy and Carolyn will be married on Tuesday, Nov. 23, in the Salt Lake Temple and will be honored at a reception to be held that same evening at the La Feria Reception Cen-ter, 187 West Main Street, Lehi. The young couple plan to make their home in Ogden af-ter their marriage, where they will continue their studies at Weber State College. - " ! Carolyn has been active jin school, civic and church, hav-ing served as high school Pep Club president, treasurer ;0f the State FHA, 1969 State Sterling Scholar in Homemaking, 1970 Strawberry Days Queen, and was one of the 10 finalists in the 1971 Miss Utah Pageant. She also served as secretary of the Timpanogos Stake n and Gleaner council and is currently serving as the Sixth Ward Jr. Sunday School chor-ister. She has been studying at the Brigham Young University for the past two years, in Child Development and Family Re-lations. ,;r Timothy graduated from the Glenbrook South High School, at Glenview, Illinois, prior to enrolling at Brigham Young University. While at the Y he was an emcee in the Program Bureau and served as a chair-man, on the "Y" Day commit-tee'- .' Timothy recently returned to his home after serving two years in the Brazil Central Mis-sion. He is now attending We-ber State College, majoring in 'police', 'science. Legion Ladies Unit 70 Meet Last Thursday, Oct. 28 Members of American Leg-ion Auxiliary Unit 70 met at the home of Lucile H. Walker, Unit 70 Legislative chairman, Thursday afternoon, Oct. 28. The meeting was conducted by Arvilla Harvey, second vice president. After singing "America," di-rected by Arsenath Walser, Mrs. Harvey introduced Phylis Van Wagenen, of Provo, First Vice President of Auxiliary Dis-trict Four. Mrs. Van Wagenen gave greetings and spoke words of encouragement to those pres-ent. Mrs. Walker gave an instruc-tive and stimulating talk on "Legislation" emphasizing the need for new and more string-ent laws relative to the spread of Communism. She pointed out that past leg-islation has helped the Com-munists to achieve their goal to take over the government of the United States by 1973. "This they hope to do by destroying Christian religion, stimulating moral decay, promoting bigger national government, encour-aging bankruptcy, unilateral disarmament and racial strife," Mrs. Walker said. Refreshments were served by hostesses Florence Holt, Gertrude Richards and Mrs. Walker. Fourteen members were present. ' ' . t v ,z J , MISS TRUDY LARSEN Trudy Larsen and Robert Lundgren to Recite Wedding Vows in LDS Temple Carter and Kathy Bezzant. A wedding brunch will be hosted by the parents of the groom following the temple ceremony. Bridal showers were given by Mrs. Linda Gillman, Mrs. Sandra Larsen and Mrs. Faye CuUimore. The couple will make their home in Provo where the groom will complete his edu-cation. Miss Trudy Ann Larsen and Robert Lundgren will take marriage vows tomorrrow, the fifth day of November in the Salt Lake Temple, and will be honored that same evening at a reception in the London Ward Cutural Hall. A wrought iron backdrop, draped with pale blue chiffon combined with deep purple mums and gladiolus will create a Novem-ber atmosphere. Trudy Ann is the daughter of Mrs. Juanita Larsen of Lin-do- n and Willis E. Larsen of Orem. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lundgren of Pleasant Grove. The bride's orginal gown, fashioned in quaker lace, trim-med with a neck line of pearls and satin buttons will give a look of peasantry. A scalloped neck and skirt, detail the sty-ling. A floor-lengt- h veil topped with a headpiece of pearls, sequins, and a satin bow will complete the gown. She will carry a tiered bouquet of white rose buds and stephanotis. Attending Trudy will be her bridal attendants: Mrs. Linda Gillman, matron of honor; Mrs. Faye Cullimore, Carol Keetch, Vickie Ercanbrack, and DeAnn Clark; Paula Lyn Gillman, flower girl. They will be dressed in deep purple floor-lengt- h skirts with pale blue blouses. They will carry a single white rose bud. John Lungren will stand with his brother as best man, and ushers will be Paul Gill--. man, Bruce Campbell, Dean Larsen, Craig Frazer and Craig Cullimore. Greeting guests will be Mr. and Mrs. Kent Larsen and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Jensen. At the guest book will be Susan William M. Hone (Continued from page 1) missed voting in an election since he was 21 years old. He feels that everyone should ex-ercise his right to vote. He assists his son and his grandsons working in the bees and also helping in the wood-craft shop. He is a great help and is ususally there when one needs an extra pair of hands. Mr. Hone is the father of one son and five daughters: Rulon Jennings, Mrs. Rulon (Ida) Brimhall, Mrs. Faye (Lexie) Steele, Mrs. Vera Nut-tal- l, Mrs. Glen (Jennie) Gil-bert and Mrs. Arlen (Muriel) Fowler, deceased. He has 39 grandchildren, 92 great grand-children and one great, great-grandchild. An open house will be held in his honor on Sunday, Nov. 7 between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. at his home, 691 South 300 East. Radmall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vilace L. Radmall of Pleasant Grove. The marriage will take place on Saturday, Nov. 6, 1971. An open house will be held in their honor the same evening at Bart's Cottage, 244 South Main in Springville. Receiving will be from 7 to 9 p.m. All friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. No formal invitations will be sent. The bride-to-b- e has attended BYU, and has been employed in the Provo area. The groom has attended BYU and Weber State, and has ful-filled an LDS Mission to the Great Lakes Mission field. Variety Club Holds Halloween Party On October 20 A Halloween and Autumn theme was carried out by Juanita Larsen, when she en-tertained the members of the Variety Club at her home on Wednesday, October 20. Her home was lovely with autumn flower arrangements and luncheon was served at small tables featuring Hallo-ween and harvest decorations and small baskets of Hallo-ween candy. The time was spent in play-ing Halloween games, reminis-coin- g and relaxing. Prizes were won by Dorothy Walker and Eva Reynolds. She was assisted in serving by her daughters Trudy Larsen and Linda Gillman. Those present besides those mentioned were Myrl Armit-stea- Mary Harper, Thelma Swenson, Ora Boren, Mary Swenson, Evelyn Schoonover, Beth Warburton, Ida Halliday, Eva Reynolds, Dorothy Walk-er and Ruby Warnick. HOSPITAL NEWS Among babies born at the American Fork Hospital during the past week ending Oct. 30, 1971, were the following from the Pleasant Grove area: Oct. 27, a girl to Gerald W. and Barbara Jensen Kennedy. Oct. 28, a girl to Boyd and Gloria Barnhart Swenson.
