Independent Party candidate Dennis Ruffell Fairly close balloting marked mark-ed the Lindon City Council race as three new faces will be on the council starting the first of next year. ' LeRoy (Sam) Fryer, with 237 votes, was ahead of all other candidates. His closest rival was Wayne G. Peay with 226 votes and Darrell Frampton gained the third spot on the council with 214. got 88 votes. Lindon City had 670 registered register-ed voters and 441 of them turned turn-ed out for the election Tuesday. Tues-day. This is very close to 2 out of 3 people registered voting, and is quite high for an off-national off-national election year. The three new councilmen will join Mayor Stanley Walker Walk-er in Councilmen Dale Gillman and Wendyl Jarvis on or around Jan. 1 to help run the affairs of Lindon City. These three have two more years to run on their four-year terms. Lindon is a city that has a problem of growing residential areas and not too many taxes to take care of their roads and water, and other problems. The council job is not an enviable one. Lindon citizens are urged to get behind their city government gov-ernment and make Lindon City a good place to live. |
