Food will be served at 6 p.m. A local group will play at the dance at 6:30 p.m. Witches webs and pumpkins will adorn the gymnasium. Allyson Benson, dance chair-man, and her committee, Brenda Bezzant, Alan Phillips and Steven Allred are in charge of decorations. "Phantom of the Opera," a movie ,will be shown following the dance from 8 to 9:00 p.m. This should be lots of fun after the big Deer Hunt vac. ation. k r ' . I ROBERT E. PIERCE and MISS LINDA WALKER Linda Lee Walker and Robert Pierce to Marry in American Fork on Nov. 5 Mr. Pierce is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. He attended the University of Utah for one year. In 1966 he joined the U.S. Navy where he served for four years as a raidioman, 2 years aboard the Guided Missile Cruiser Topeka. Robert is presently employed at Phillips Manufac-turing Co. and plans to return to school in January. The couple plan to make their home in Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. Russell B. Walker of American Fork an-nounce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Linda Lee to Robert E. Pierce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Pierce of Pleasant Grove. The marriage will take place November 5, 1971, in American Fork. Miss Walker is a graduate of the American Fork High School and a four year Seminary graduate. In high school he was active in basketball and served as president of the Future Far-mers of America. He attended Utah State University for one year, and served an LDS Mis-sion to California. He is a mem-ber of the Utah National Guard Mike is now attending Brigham Young University and serves as president of "The BYU So-ciety for Medical Technolo-gists" Mike and Debbie plan to be '" married in the near future, and " will continue their education in the fall. Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Taylor of Pleasant Grove take pleas-ure in announcing the engage-ment and forthcoming mar-riage of their daughter Debbie to Michael Lawrence Farr, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Reed Pet--; erson, also of Pleasant Grove. Debbie is a graduate of the Pleasant Grove High School and Pleasant Grove Seminary. In high school she was a mem-ber of the Pep Club and the color guard. She was Pleasant Grove's Junior Miss in 1969 and is presently reigning as Straw-- ' berry Days Queen. She is also an attendant to Miss Utah County. She is a junior attend-ing Brigham Young University majoring in Clothing and Tex-tiles. Mike is also a graduate of Pleasant Grove High and Sem-- Central School to Hold Halloween Party Thursday The Central School PTA are announcing their Special Halloween Carnival set for to-night, Thursday, Oct. 28. It will start promptly at 5:30 p.m. with a real live Monkey Show. The monkeys are from Hogle Zoo. There will be a 25 cent admission charge to see this fantastic show. Sopok alleys, games, fishing booths, will fill the rest of the evening with fun for all. Also there will be eats galore, hot dogs, chili, pie, cake, ice cream Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the supper and show and the rest of the fun. Buckaroo 4--H Club Elect New Officers The Buckaroos 4-- Riding Club elected new officers for the coming year. . Elected were Vickie Barney, president; Erin Carroll, vice president; Debra Jorgenson, secretary-treasure- r and Craig Carson and Ann Carroll, as ac-tivity chairmen. Sociables to Hold Two Special Dances This Week LDS Sociables are still danc-ing every Saturday night in the Lindon Cultural Hall, but this week the-bi- event is a special Barn Dance to be held at Cher-ry Hill Barn in Lakeview. The barn dance is set for tonight, Thursday, Oct. 28 and will fea-ture square dancing. Saturday night, a Halloween Dance will be held, with cos-tumes if desired, and prizes are to be given according to Char-les Adams, dance director. The Saturday night dance will be held in Lindon, Mr. Ad-ams said. He said also that everyone eligible is invited to come out. Penrod of Pleasant Grove. The couple has set Nov. 5 for their marriage ceremony in the Orem Second Ward. A reception will be held in their honor from 8 to 10 that evening in the Orem Second-26t- h Ward Cultural Hall. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Evan D. Astle of Orem and Mr. and Mrs. Ned Penrod of Pleasant Grove. Bidden to attend the bride as maid of honor is Nancy Astle. Bridesmaids will be Marsha Penrod, Marsha Timothy and Marilyn Nielson. Best man will be Raymond Duvall. The bride-elec- t is a graduate of Orem High School and Dar-rell'- s Beauty College in Orem. She is aso a seminary gradu-ate. While at school she was active in the Gymnastic Club. She is employed locally. The groom-to-b- e graduated from Pleasant Grove High and attended LDS Business College for one year. He was active on the baseball team. He also graduated from seminary. He served two years in the army, and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. He is also employ-ed locally. TOPS Club Starts Monday Meetings On November 1 Monday, Nov. 1 the Pleasant Grove TOPS Club is planning a "Back to Tops Day." All for-mer or new members are in-vited to attend. Tops Club meeting is held at the City Hall from 1 until 2 p.m. Weigh-i- n time is from 12:30 until 12:55. A program will be held and low-calor- lunch will be serv-ed. Anyone interested may vis-it the club next Monday and , decide if they would like to be-come a member. Club officers say "join with us and have fun and win priz-es by losing weight." |
