I I I i In S SEE E SOUTHERN SOUTHERN UTAH UTAH Ladies from Farmers State Bank who recently returned from a tour of southern south south- ern Utah include front I to r Mrs Margaret Margaret Margaret Mar Mar- garet Hansen Mrs Hen- Hen Saturday May 1 23 several women employees of Farmers Fann Farm ers State Bank made their third annual visit under the warm desert sun to southern Utah This time they visited a remote area south of Cannonville Cannonville Cannonville Can- Can nonville known variously as Flats Paria Pana State Park and now Chimney Rock State Park where they were amazed ama at the beautiful ful and grotesque rock formations formations formations for for- rising from the lush green floor of this small valley val val- ley FURTHER south over dusty but passable roads they came upon the spectacular Grosvenor Grosvenor Grosvenor Gros- Gros venor Arch much different from other arches in the scenic scenic scenic ic southern Utah area Still further south they traveled through rugged and colorful Cottonwood Canyon where many huge formations resemble Lie hie backs of dinosaurs dinosaurs dinosaurs dino dino- saurs then on to Wahweap on Lake La Powell After a quick visit to Glen Canyon Dan Dam Damand and Page Ariz where they had their first look at water dogs they headed homeward dricks Mrs Norma Taylor Back Mrs Fay Vaughn Mrs Jane N N. N I Cook Mrs Geneve Bellew and Mrs Norma Conte SUNDAY morning they hiked down the trail into Fairyland at Bryce Canyon around the rim nm of this fantastic group of formations where they reluctantly reluctantly reluctantly re re- re- re settled themselves into two station wagons for forthe forthe forthe the return journey Then they heard briefly of the wind storm in Davis County County County Coun Coun- ty and were anxious to learn what happened On arrival home they found that their families were all safe in sP spite ite of raised roofs broken windows win win- dows lows downed trees scattered debris and other damage ALREADY plans are being discussed as to where to go next year Those attending were Mrs Fay Vaughn Mrs 1 Margaret Hansen Mrs Geneve Bellew j Mrs Norma Taylor Mrs Norma Conte Mrs Lois Smith and Wagon Master Mrs Jane N.
