Show Heber City resident is given 1 5-year sentence in drug case A 40-year-old Heber man dubbed'' the "ring leader" in a $15 million dollar Intermountain cocaine distribution operation was sentenced sentenc-ed to 15 years in prison Monday, in! U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City. Judge Aldon Anderson sentenced Michael Hurren to six 15-year terms and one five-year term in federal prison. The terms will run concurrently, concur-rently, meaning that Hurren would i' serve a maximum of 15 years if not H paroled early. The judge also ordered a special three-year parole supervision after Hurren is released from prison and an 'additional five-year probation period after that. Hurren was one of 21 people named nam-ed in a 170-count indictment alleging various crimes involving the illegal possession and use of cocaine. He pleaded guilty to seven counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and one count of conspiracy. Assistant U.S. Attorney Wayne T. Dance had asked the court to order the prison terms to run consecutively. consecutive-ly. Dance noted that Hurren had admitted ad-mitted to distributing 50 kilos of 90 percent pure cocaine during a two-year two-year period.
