Show Resort frowns on skiing clowns The Park City Ski Area is acting ac-ting to "cool down" Clown Day by keeping clowns off the slopes. A new rule this year states that people holding season passes or coupons cannot ski on Clown Day in costumes, according to Ed Bowers, communications direc- , tor for the Park City Ski Area. The passes most often are bought by the Park City locals who celebrate the April 1 holiday, Bowers said. The main reason for the rule, said Bowers, is to control the rowdy aspect of the costumed event. "It seems to be involved with partying a lot and drinking a lot," said Bowers. In the past, the ski area has discouraged costumed employees from skiing, he said. But the ski area still participates par-ticipates in the day. Last year, the resort sponsored a clown party par-ty in the parking lot. "We want to get rid of just the skiing part," Bowers said.
