Show Utah Gets Historic Site Grant Utah has been allocated a federal grant of $448,000 to be used for work on buildings or sites that are currently listed in the National Na-tional Register of Historic Places, according to Wilson Martin, preservation development devel-opment for the Utah State Historical Society. Martin stated that this grant is a part of the recently enacted "Jobs Bill", and the purpose is to create jobs in the construction industry. Pre-applications for these matching grants are available avail-able at the Utah State Historical Society, 300 Rio Grande, Salt Lake City, 84101. and must be complet-ed complet-ed and returned by June 15. , It is expected that contracts for the work to begin will be signed during, July and August. , Additional information informa-tion may be received from the grants coordinator at the Historical Society. 533-7039. |
