Show Prospector Sirloin team wins Bartender's Cup Roxanne Toly, Louie Leatham and Geoff Nielsen, representing the Prospector Sirloin Club, skied to first place in the regional Lite Bartender's Cup race held Feb. 27 at the Park City Ski Area. A total of 31 teams from the Park City Salt Lake area were entered in the competition. The top three teams qualified for the national Bartender's Cup race to be held at Snowbird in April. The Bartender's Cup involves head-to-head racing on a dual giant slalom course. The team which wins at least two of the three individual matchups advances to the next round. Second place in the Feb. 27 event went to the Oceans Restaurant team, composed of Greta O'Brien, Stuart O'Brien and Bill Tabar. In third place was the Haggis Social Club, represented by Kathy Kreiner, Tom Reinerth and Victor Roy. Finishing fourth, just out of the money, was the Adolph's Restaurant team made up of Karri Hays, Adolph Imboden and John Carpenter. Prizes for the fastest individual runs went to Kathy Kreiner ( women ) and Victor Roy ( men ) . Awards were handed out following the race at a party at the Rusty Nail. Teams from California, Colorado and Wyoming will also qualify for the national race through regional contests like the one held in Park City. |
