Show Obituaries Benjamin B. Bean Benjamin Bryan Bean died Nov. 19 in Salt Lake City. He was 87. He was born Dec. 27, 1897, in Park City to Thomas and Isabella Nichols Bean. He married Winnifred Riggin. They were divorced and he married Echo Willes Jan. 16, 1936, in the Salt Lake IDS Temple. He was a teacher in the Grantie School District. He loved music and played the saxophone and the violin in dance bands, parades and in the Letter Carriers' Car-riers' Band. ' He was active in all organizations of the LDS Church and was a high priest in the Monument Park 14th Ward. He is survived by his wife, of Salt Lake City ; sons, Robert Quinn Bean (Driggs, Idaho) and Benjamin Willes Bean (Orem) ; daughters, Mrs. Ronald L. (Nancy) Bouck and Mrs. Fred L. (Bonnie) Farr (Salt Lake); 18 grandchildren; grand-children; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Nov. 22 at the Monument Park 14th Ward, 2255 Wasatch Dr. Friends may call at the Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Nov. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Nov. 22 an hour before the service at the ward. Burial will be in Lehi City Cemetery. Robert Colton Smith Robert Colton Smith died Nov. 16. He was 47. He was born in Salt Lake City Jan. 4, 1938, to Elwin Fullmer and Ethel Colton Col-ton Smith. He married Susan M. Tripp June 24, 1968. He graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. He was a Park City resident and, for four years, he was a member of the Chapel Fellowship of Park City. "He left a real legacy of love," said Pastor Lenny Perrata. "He knew what he wanted to do and he went out to do it. He had a love and a value for human life." Smith was a journalist and a photographer for KUTV News in Salt Lake City for many years. At the time of his death, he was chief news editor for KTVX. He won the Outstanding Television Newsman award from the Utah Broadcasters Broad-casters Association in 1966, the Golden Camera Award for a documentary, , "Utah on My Mind," a Cleo award (given to television commercials) and an Emmy award. He was a certified professional ski instructor and ski patrol member and taught for various ski schools in Utah. He was a member of the International Ski Instructors Association, Sigma Nu fraternity, Sigma Delta Chi the National Na-tional Professional Journalism Society and the Utah Air National Guard. He is survived by his wife; his daughters, Dori Ann Smith and Terri Lynn Smith; and his mother. Ethel C.Smith.
