Show ! Parking ! exemption denied j The Park City Board of Ad- . justments Nov. 21 unanimously j denied a parking-variance request from developers of the Depot pro- f ject. u The Depot builders were asking for a flat 20 percent reduction in S their parking requirement, said city planner Joel Patterson. The project would house retail, hotel and con- dominium space. Developers said j parking could be reduced on the k basis of "shared use." jl That concept supposes that each j use does not create its own separate customer demand, but uses serve, to some extent, the same customers, -. The Depot zone extends from Park ' Avenue on the west to Deer Valley Drive on the east and from from ' Heber Avenue at the base of Main J Street to the Park Station hotel on l the north. ' The staff's recommendation, said Patterson, was to postpone a deci- sion. Developers did not have infor- g mation on what specific kind of , retail they planned or the proportion y of hotel to condominium units. This ji information is needed to determine 7 the parking requirement, he said. The board action, he said, in- ' dicated the parking issue should be taken up by the Park City Planning Commission, |
