Show Stein Eriksen Lodge to add units, meeting space by Randy Hanskat The Stein Eriksen Lodge at Deer Valley is growing. Construction is now beginning begin-ning on Phase II, which includes in-cludes the building of 34 condominium con-dominium units and a new meeting facility. The condominiumhotel currently has 31 units, each consisting of a one-bedroom suite and one or two deluxe rooms. In Phase II, 34 identical iden-tical units will be added to the north end of the east wing. "The new units will be just like the ones we have, with basically the same design and decor," said Patti Prince, Prin-ce, director of sales and marketing for the lodge. A new building housing 950 square feet of meeting space makes up the other part of the Phase II expansion. The facility will be octagon-shaped octagon-shaped and will accommodate accom-modate up to 100 people. "We are building the new meeting space because we would like to accommodate larger groups," said Prince. "With our current setup we can only handle small groups." A small boardroom and a conference room make up the current meeting facilities at the Stein Eriksen Lodge. According to Prince, construction con-struction on the new condominium con-dominium units should be completed by next summer, while the meeting facility is not scheduled to be finished until the summer of 1985. General contractor for the new construction is Cannon Construction of Salt Lake City. Boyd A. Blackner, also of Salt Lake, who served as architect for Phase I, will work again on Phase II. |
