Show Betts and Kredenser exhibits open Sunday Watercolorist Noal Betts and photographer Peter Kredenser will be featured in two exhibits at the Kimball Kim-ball Art Center. Betts will show recent watercolors in the Main Gallery and Kredenser's photographs will be on exhibit in the Little Gallery from July 24 through August 17. San Francisco's Noal Betts Bet-ts holds the distinction of being the first artist to show in the Kimball Art Center's Main Gallery. The internationally-known artist will return to show recent water- colors in a one-man exhibit. Betts' Park City poster, printed in conjunction with the opening of the Center in November 1976, has become one of the Center's most widely circulated prints. Betts is best known for painting with balance in economy. Favorite subjects in the past have included wild animals, South America, San Francisco, New York and Park City. His Park City exhibit will include in-clude approximately paintings paint-ings done in Latin America, Europe and Canada, as well as the United States. The artist is included in : corporate and museum : collections around the world, j Such organizations as American Express, Bank of ! America, Clorox Company, : IBM, Hyatt Hotels, Lanvin, : Marriott Inns, Sheraton : Hotels, and Standard Oil own Noal Betts' paintings. : Los Angeles' Peter j Kredenser has only begun to ; devote his full energies to photography in the past dec- ade. However, in that time, ( he has become one of the ; country's top editorial, ; fashion, beauty and ; celebrity photographers. S The recipient of B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees from I Boston University, he has ; also studied design at N.Y.U., Parsons School of i Design and Harvard Univer- sity. According to the artist, I he moved from painting to 5 sculpture in the late '60s and j then to furniture design in jj the early '70s. From 1967 to 1971, his paintings and sculp- j tures were shown throughout Boston and New York, and in i 1970, his oversized graphics j were shown at New York's Whitney Museum of 5 American Art. Following his time j designing furniture, he j moved to California and I began to work exclusively as ; a photographer. His photographs have been published in a number of ? national travel and fashion I publications. One of his I latest projects was to ': photograph the shooting of the television miniseries, "The Winds of War."
