Show Register Earlyl For Race Participants in this Saturday's Satur-day's Run for Life are urgf;d to pre-register, according to David Wilding, committee chairman. Registration is running ahead of last year's record pace and participants are asked to pre-register to avoid the expected last minute rush. More than 4,000 Utahns are expected for the 10 kilometer runwalk at 10 a.m. at Highland High School. Good weather is expected for the state's largest and most fun run. The 1981 Run for Life has two new features: a mini-fitness fair and a rebate of the registration fee for any participant who collects at least $30 in pledges for heart research in Utah. The mini-fitness fair, which begins at 8:30 a.m. will feature aerobic dance demonstrations, de-monstrations, warming-up and stretching ips, running shoe experts and exercise nutrition tips. Participants in the mini-fitness fair will be available after the run to answer questions and display dis-play equipment. "We've made the fund raising aspect of Run for Life more attractive than ever before," says Wilding. "In addition to the $5 registration registrat-ion fee refund to anyone who raises more than $30, the incentive and grand prizes are really worth earning. For instance,' we are giving away a number of memberships to the Canyon Racquet Club to our top pledge collectors." The $5 registration fee includes a participation certificate certi-ficate for the runwaalk, training tips, bib number and colorful Run for Life T-shirt. Participants will also enjoy yogurt donated by Meadow Gold Dairies and drinks donated by Coca-Cola and Mt. Olympus Spring water. Pre-registration is now underway at all ZCMI Sporting Goods departments and at the Utah Heart Association, 250 East 1st South. Another run to benefit the Utah Heart Association will take place in Morgan. Participants can register for the event at the Morgan City Park before the runwalk starting at 9 a.m. |
