Show EDITORIAL This week we thought we would give City Officials a much deserved break from our suggesting, complaining, urging, hoping and sometimes pointed editorials, and address the subject to Mother's Day. People have flocked to Park City in recent years from all parts of the globe leaving their mothers worrying wondering and concerning at home. Park City probably has more absentee mothers per capita than any city on Earth. They must wonder constantly about their children out in Utah and breath sighs of relief when they do not find the names of their sons and daughters in the Police Blotter each week. Mothers never forget holidays or birthdays and their cards and letters always arrive regularly at the Post Office. They can alway be counted on in a pinch and are the first to offer praise whenever it's due. Whenever they visit mothers without fail have nothing but good words for Park City and are always on their best behavior when introduced around town; some of them even decide to stick around for awhile. So. for all those who have mothers far away we heartilv encourage them to remember Mother's Day this Sunday. The same goes for anyone with a mother down the street or in the other room. Cards, flowers, gifts and phone calls on Mother's Day are small but much appreciated and are the very least you can do when considering what you mother has done for you. |
