Show Park West Expansion Gets County Approval The Summit County Planning Commission last week granted conceptual approval and approval of an Environmental Impact Statement to two expansion projects at Park West Resort. Conceptual approval was given to a hotelcommercial complex planned for a parking area between the two existing condominium condo-minium projects. A zone change to a newly drafted recreation commercial zone remains to be granted and will be considered at a public hearing at the County Courthouse April 4. The new zone would allow unlimited density if 30 percent of a development is left as open space. The impact statement was approved for the proposed Arrow head condominiums to be located across the Park West entrance road from the existing condos. According to County Planning Director Max Greenhalgh, concerns con-cerns about flooding and sewage disposal will have to be resolved before any further approval is granted for the two projects. In other action, engineer Jack Johnson presented the commission commis-sion with plans for a 450 lot, 370 acre addition to the Highland Estates subdivision. The extension, to be developed by Capsom, Morris, McComb real estate, is planned for a property on both sides of U.S. highway 40, just south of the 1-80 interchange. The commission requested that plans be revised to allow more open space. |
