Show joined in singing welcome home to the tune of Happy Birthday, The Sullivans were very impressed im-pressed and pleased. Mrs. Sullivan Sul-livan remarked with tears in her eyes, that nothing so nice had happened to her in 48 years. As a final gesture, several beautiful selections were played play-ed on the Auto Harp, by a young man who is staying at the hotel. The Sullivans left for home Friday, but they say thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Jones and friends for making their stay so enjoyable. Gene Sullivans Visit in Park Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sullivan former Parkites and life long friends of the O'Neills and the Terry families, spent two days in Park visiting old friends and touring the town. Both Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan were born and raised in Park City. They moved to Butte, Montana over 40 years ago. Mrs. Sullivan was Elsie Gib-hart Gib-hart before her marriage and worked many years as a waitress wait-ress at the New Park Hotel. As a subscriber to the Park Record, she has been reading the articles about the New Park and its new owners, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jones. She longed to come back to visit and to see the changes in the hotel and the town as a whole. Her wish came true when her daughter and son-in-law brought her and Eugene back as a gift for their forty-eighth wedding anniversary. They registered at the hotel refusing to stay with friends because this was their wish, to stay at the New Park Hotel. Wednesday evening the Sullivans, Sul-livans, Alice O'Neill, Violet Terry and Mary Dougherty enjoyed en-joyed a lovely dinner there. Mr. and Mrs. Jones were most gracious. They presented the couple with a cake complete with candles and inscribed with 'Welcome Home Sullivans" and everyone in the dining room |
