Mrs. Donna Prudence received receiv-ed a dozen roses from the wrestling team to thank her for her kind hand in buying the wrestlers' dinners. Special thanks should go to Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Martinez, for planning the banquet for the Miners, and Rev. Meinzen for reciting the opening prayer. -PCHS- Rating Earned Delsa Winn, Gobby Froelke and Maria Sweeten represented Park City High School last Saturday Sat-urday at State Ensemble Contest held at View Mont High School. To be eligible to compete at State Ensemble you must have received a 'superior" rating at Region Solo and EnsembleCon-test. EnsembleCon-test. Delsa, Gobby and Maria sang "Green Cathedral" and received receiv-ed a 2 minus. Rosemary Dur-rant. Evaluation Time On Monday night, April 9, Dr. Mark Simmons, principal and Mr. Fred Marchant, math teacher, will be leaving for Uintah High School in Vernal, Utah. The Utah State Department of Education a s k e d them to evaluate eval-uate the high school for the North West Accrediting Association, Assoc-iation, which accredits all of the high schools in this area. Dr. Simmons and Mr. Marv chant will return on Wednesday Wednes-day night. -PCHS- Clown Entertains Happy Da?e, a clown of many faces, entertained Park City High School April 3. The assembly was brought to Park High by theNationalSchool Assemblies. Happy Daze did various tricks such as Juggling, riding a uni-cycle uni-cycle and folding paper into different dif-ferent objects. Along with making the students stu-dents laugh he talked to them about themselves, and how each person is an individual.-Rose-mary Durante. -PCHS- Responses Good "Smilin Through, a three act play, was performed for the fifth and sixth grades during the afternoon Wednesday. Some of their written responses to the play were: Dear High School: It was a good play. This letter is short because I don't want to do my writing. Sincerely, Kelly Wright. It was goo d especially when she got shot. You almost fooled us but you didn't-Sincerely, Marty Cowin. It seemed like on T.V. I thought the gun shot was very neat. Sincerely, Karl Lambert. Lam-bert. Reporter, Chris Kummer. -PCHS- Tryouts Scheduled It is time f'jr Drill Team and Cheerleader tryouts, for the 1973-1974 school year. Many girls are busy practicing practic-ing marches and cheers, as drill team tryouts will be May 3 and cheerleader tryouts will be April 2?. Girls trying out for cheerleader, cheer-leader, have to make up an original or-iginal cheer. Girls trying out for drill team, have to make up a march. Along with this, both cheerleader cheer-leader and drill team hopefuls have a number of other requirements re-quirements in order to be eligible to tryout. Helen Mar-cellin. Mar-cellin. -PCHS- Team Honored On Thursday, March 18, the Park City High School varsity wrestling team enjoyed and appreciated ap-preciated a well-prepared banquet ban-quet of Chinese delicacies. Jim Goo, owner of Jimmy's Place sponsored the delicious dinner, which consisted of ham fried rice, Hong Kong chicken, sweet and sour pork, chicken chow mein and Chinese fortune cookies. Special guests of the wrestlers wrest-lers were High School Principal Prin-cipal Dr. Mark. C.Simmons and Superintendent Dennis Nelson, who gave fine talks commending commend-ing the wrestlers accomplishments. accomplish-ments. Master of ceremonies, wrestling coach Wayne Carlson, Carl-son, introduced each wrestler according to his weight and gave a brief summary on how each wrestler did during the season.
