Morgan Hosts TrKounly DUP Meeting The tri-County convention of Daughters of Pioneers was held Saturday, May 13. Morgan County Coun-ty acted as host. Prayer was by Dora Rich, Chaplain of the Morgan County Camn. Emma Harding, president of the Morgan County Camp welcomed wel-comed guests, Kate B. Carter and Mrs. Rose Brown who is in charge of Master Index at Central Cen-tral Company. Mrs. Brown explained about the Master Index Card telling them to keep up to date on every pioneer, the date they came to ' Utah, which is ALL important. She instructed that each bulletin should be read diligently and a special effort should be made to get the young women to join the Camps and participate in the Queen contest. Also that the DUP's furnishSacrament Meeting Meet-ing programs with music and the spoken word. Mrs. Carter has attended conventions in Northern California, Calif-ornia, where she dedicated a marker at Sacramento at the Rhodes family cemetery, prog enitors of the Rhodes family in Coalville; May 5 she attended a three county convention in Orem; May, North Davis County convention; May 8, Central Davis County Convention with 800 present; May 12, Sanpete County convention with 200 daughters present; May 15 South Davis County convention. Mrs. Carter told about the lessons for next year and asked the daughters present if they have any pioneer stories about the mule cars, gas lights, Sunday Sun-day School, hotels, Christmas stories, division of land and water and The Isle of Man to submit them to her for the lessons, be sure and sign your name at the bottom of the story. Music was directed by Manilla Man-illa Carter and Sarah Scott; the congregation sang, "The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers" written to the tune of 'In Our Lovelv Deseret." quartet, Fly Away Kentucky Babe," and "Mother," Mt. Joy Camp, Pat Peterson, Anna Porter, Emma Smith and Sandra Carter. Reports were given by County Coun-ty Presidents, Mae Clsen, Summit; Sum-mit; Vlara Epperson, Wasatch; Emma Harding, Morgan. Ten officers were present from Wasatch; thirty-five from Summit and thirty-four from Morgan. Thelma Bell, Morgan was in |
