Show "Great Women" of Vorld Subject of Program for Athenaeum Club she had acquired. It is said that she surpressed many of her own desires to be the devoted wife of a small town doctor. Her knowledge of the Orient was great and many Athenaeum members remember well the charming Chinese dinner she served them. Miss Naomi Jensen was yet another localite to receive mention men-tion as a "Great Woman". For many years she was Summit County Home Demonstration agent and the ladies and girls of Park City received much help in sewing, cooking, upholstery uphol-stery work, grooming and many 4-H projects. Club members remembered her beautiful poetry and book reviews. The Woman's Athenaeum of Park City was fortunate to have a program entitled "Great Women" presented by Mrs. E.J. McPolin at their last meeting. Starting with Eve, Mrs. McPolin Mc-Polin brought out the interesting highlights in the lives of many famous women of the world. Madame Curie, Florence Nightingale, Night-ingale, Susan B. Anthony were some who were mentioned. At the conclusion of her presentation, club members in attendance were asked for their recommendations for "Great Women. It was interesting that besides be-sides a few well-known ladies such as Eleanor Roosevelt and Amelia Earhart, the bulk of those suggested were local ladies. All agreed that Blanche Fletcher has always sharedher talents with the people of our community. No time could be recalled when she refused to play for or accompany someone. some-one. Even these past few years she has shared willingly and never received compensation for the things she does. She is, indeed, a credit to Park City. Jeanne Stone was another Parkite who did much for her community and friends. Mrs. Stone was most instrumental in furthering the Girl Scout program here, as well as taking an' active interest in all civic and school affairs. She was a devoted de-voted member of the Athenaeum. Athen-aeum. Another suggested was Mrs. Marie Bardsley. She was a most unique person ... to those who knew her well she gave much; she shared the great knowledge |
