Show didn't help much as most people think these were of minor importance im-portance and don't hesitate to say so. Never had I felt that a group of legislators were so concerned concern-ed about the work ahead. Ten House bills and two Senate bills were in the hopper that could change and shift 18 million dollars dol-lars of tax money. The pressure is terrific. No one was smiling or jovial. What will happen before be-fore the session ends with all the heavy work still ahead? IF THERE WERE some way the appropriations bill could come out early serving in the Legislature would not be so bad. Surely these people deserve our moral support and perhaps a word of encouragement might give them the needed strength to hold for what they all know is right. Always there are a few who are looking at November, '72 but mostly both parties are working for the good of the State. Last week I wrote that 19 members were from education and three or four from agriculture agri-culture and industry. Somehow along the line to the publisher the three or four was translated trans-lated thirty each. PJS. I'm not going to sue anyone.-Glen T. Our GLEN Says: AFTER TAKING care of some business in Salt Lake City the other day we dropped into the State Capitol for a brief visit. The old brass doors had been replaced with new automatic stainless ones but inside things looked very familiar. Same old lobbyists that I had learned to respect and depend on during my stay there. Real nice to greet them. Entering the House chambers was different. From the doorman door-man down to the last messenger all were strangers. This of course happens every time the House is controlled by a different dif-ferent party. Looking at the new electronic voting board again I was impressed im-pressed by the fact that 28 new members were there. George Hopkins had been chosen for one of the jobs as internes (students from college are hired to help with research and other detail work). He came over to speak with us. MORGAN HAS HAD some fine young men represent us in this capacity. Blair Francis and Roy Moore had been employed in other sessions. With three weeks almost past very few bills had cleared both houses and the public was riding rather hard for action. The fact that the Rainbow Trout and elk had been made famous |
