Show Park Board of Education Will Join County Council Members of Park City's Board of Education unanimously voted to join the Summit County Coun-ty Council of Governments at last week's regular session. The move came following a review of the Articles of Association As-sociation of the council. A property agreement received re-ceived from Greater Park City Company on purchase of a proposed pro-posed new Elementary-High School site is now being reviewed review-ed by the School Attorney before be-fore it is accepted. Bids will be accepted on a 36-passenger school bus until March 26 at 4:30 p.m. The board will meet March 26 at 7:30 p.m. to open bids. Superintendent Dennis Nelson reported the high school stage lighting system had been replaced re-placed due to the old system being worn out and he also briefed brief-ed board members on the new School Finance bill then before die Legislature and its impact on districts if it became law. Under the direction of Mrs. Nan McPolin the followingclas-ses followingclas-ses in community education have leen completed: Ladies Automotive; Typing; Ladies Physical Education; and Beginning Be-ginning Sewing. Two more classes: clas-ses: Men's Physical Education and Photography will soon be completed and a Driver Training Train-ing class has been set up. Superintendent Nelson informed in-formed the board on a new intergraded shopprogram being organized for the next school year. Under the four phase program the principles of technical tech-nical shop includingmechanical drafting and power mechanics would be taught. Board members Gary Boyle, Ronald Hannay, John Green and Fay Dearden will attend the National School Board Convention Conven-tion in Anaheim, Calif., April 7 to 10. In final action the board moved mov-ed to hold their regular April 3 meeting on March 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the School Board Office. |
